Are Islamic Extremists the BIGGEST threat facing the world in this day and age?

I heard John McCain today on NPR and he said that Islamic Fundamentalist Extremists are the biggest threat facing the world today. I just find that hard to believe. Hello? Global warming? Overpopulation? Seems to me that there are a lot worse things to worry about. A lot worse. How many people do IFE's kill anyway? And would they be killing anybody if we would just leave them alone?

Muslims extremists, and Muslim moderates who ar eremaining more or less silent are providing the platfor for the Wests extremists: Dick Cheney & Co would have no base from which to launch their insanity if the Muslim extremists were handled in a 'normal' manner.
