My brother is coming HOME!
I got the news today that he should be back on American ground late Wednesday. I want to jump up and down and scream. I'm waiting until I hear he is actually here before I breathe again.

Thank you to those DUers who offered well wishes over the last 8 months. You know who you are and I appreciate it.

Right now I am just thrilled to death that he will be able to finally meet his son (born in July) and hug his other 5 who have had a really, really tough time with this. I've been in tears on and off all day, but finally they are good tears and not scared tears.

I can almost breathe again!

40. I will do that.
He joined because he really wanted to serve his country. I don't thenk he ever imagined someone like W being commander in chief.

7. Sailor and yup, my only wish is that others weren't taking his place.
He just trained his successor ( for lack of a better word) We are going to keep yelling and marching and hopefully before long no more of our military will be away from their families for a lie and a crime.

Been marching since before the shooting started and will continue to

They are going to hide out in a cabin for a couple weeks when he gets in.

That's how I felt when Ryan came back the first time.

He's gone for another eight or nine months at the minimum.

And we will all keep fighting to make sure this ends so they don't have to go back.

I'll light a candle for Ryan now, since my own is safe.

~big hugs~

52. Thanks, Marrah_G.
I appreciate your lighting of the candle. Not my thing, but I deeply respect the sentiment.

I'm glad that your brother is coming home (finally!).

I know EXACTLY how you must feel right now. A great burden has been lifted from your shoulders. From the shoulders of EVERYONE who knows and cares about your brother.

There's really nothing quite like it, is there?

You can FINALLY get back to your regularly scheduled life now.

Enjoy the feeling. Enjoy the moment.

I pray that it lasts, permanently. I hope that your brother doesn't ever again have to fight in the name of evil. (there, I said it)

Me? I won't be satisfied until EVERY brother, sister, son, daughter, father and mother has been brought home once and for all.

And I have a sneaking suspicion that you feel the same way.

Enjoy it, please. Enjoy it for all of us who haven't yet had the privilige this time around.

:)

When you see him, hoist a drink, and tell him to toast my brother, his comrade-in-arms.

I'd like that.

54. Me? How am I doing?
OK, I guess. I'm really getting to crunch time with respect to my graduate studies. Hundreds of pages of reading, and a dozen plus pages of writing per week, plus some ignored projects that are sure to be taxing (and ominously looming on the horizon). Aside from that bullshit, I'm good.

How's by you?

61. He's doing so well, it's scary.
He got to do the family reunion thing, and he'll be out of the Army in a couple of months.

If I'd been through the tours he's been through, I probably wouldn't have made it home in one piece. He's the man. And he's 10 years younger than I am.

I'm glad to hear he's doing so well! That's a big relief! :D
My son took off 6 months and slept and played music and met a girl
and then found a really good job and seems to be doing really well,
so I'm glad for that! I was worried for a while and I & he were worried
he was going to be called back with the surge escalation and we
held our breath but he didn't get any calls. Whew! We have to end this war! :grr:
