Patriots for Al Gore Statement Regarding Al Gore Receiving Nobel Peace Prize

Patriots for Al Gore wishes to extend heartfelt and deeply humble congratulations to statesman, author, teacher, humanitarian, and environmental advocate Al Gore for receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. The awarding of this peace prize to both Al Gore and the IPCC vindicates what many around the world including scientists have known and have been warning about for quite some time: that we humans are having an affect on this planet, the only planet that sustains us. The impact we are having upon the ecosystems of this planet will not adequately sustain life in decades to come in comparison with population rise and use/depletion of resources through waste, greed, political upheaval, war, and climate change unless we now begin the urgent task of coming together as a global community to address this moral imperative with evasive action: Action that can only come from within each and every one of us.

Al Gore has been the conscience of the global community in relaying to us the harbingers of this disaster of our making for the last thirty years. He has been the guiding force in seeking to reach us before it is too late by not only making us aware of the facts and our moral obligations, but also of making us aware of the opportunities afforded to us to see beyond petty differences in working towards the one goal we all are concerned about regardless of borders, politics, race, or creed… the sustainability of the planet we all share, without which we have nothing else.

His work from the time of his first Senate term to the present has been of constant dedication and passion that only now in the last few years has seen the response we should have seen thirty years ago, due to his now being able to speak freely unconstrained by the forces that sought to hide this truth for so long in order to keep their agenda in the forefront.

PFG commends Mr. Gore for his forthright vision and his continuing dedication to seeing this crisis mitigated in spite of those forces and stand with him in support of how he wishes to achieve that goal. His work with The Climate Project and The Alliance for Climate Protection hopefully will be the catalyst for the awakening that we now must see on a global scale in order for individuals to demand the political and moral tipping points that will stop the tipping point into catastrophe.

Congratulations, Mr. Gore. You are indeed our Global Environmental Ambassador.

Chairperson,
Patriots for Al Gore
