Coulter: If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about Dems
Edited on Wed Oct-03-07 12:14 PM by RamboLiberal
COULTER: If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.

It also makes the point, it is kind of embarrassing, the Democratic Party ought to be hanging its head in shame, that it has so much difficulty getting men to vote for it. I mean, you do see it’s the party of women and 'We’ll pay for health care and tuition and day care -- and here, what else can we give you, soccer moms?'

Coulter has her own voting woes, left unmentioned in the interview, which is intended to promote her latest book, "If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans."

In 2006, Coulter allegedly violated Florida law by voting in the wrong precinct. The short version, according to The Brad Blog, which has closely followed the ongoing story:

"She committed third-degree voter fraud in Palm Beach County when she lied on her registration. Period. Dead to rights. She also lied on her driver's license down there (another third-degree felony) and knowingly voted at the wrong precinct (first degree misdemeanor). Again, all dead to rights. The link above offers all the proof any attorney with balls bigger than Coulter's would need. And here's her fraudulent Voter Registration form to boot."

Wonder how many media shows will book this shrill *&%^$ for this book tour? There are two shows I'd love to see her on - The Daily Show or Colbert Report - Stewart or Colbert would shred her. But we know she wouldn't have the "ball" to go on - hell she couldn't even handle Matt Lauer. Will Tweety have her on and massager her ego?

2. If we took away moron's rights to vote we wouldn't have to worry about republicans
Kinda been a pipe dream of mine. republicans should hang their heads in shame knowing they are in office because all the ignorant trash in the country vote for them. The racists, the constitution haters, the chickenhawks, the downright ignorant.

Question to DUers, If women no longer had the right to vote, how would that effect coulter?

5. Colbert might get her . . . Stewart is too polite . . .
But his audience might storm the stage and drag her off, which could be ugly.

But we're making the same mistake again. Coulter is a has-been harridan, last year's bad news, paid attention to only by 1) whackos 2) people who lend her credence by getting all hysterical listening to her vile spew and 3) media whores who follow 1) and 2).

Ignore the bitch. Ignore her consistently and she'll disappear.

25. Even when Stewart toasted Bow-tie man and whoozits on "Crossfire" . . .
Edited on Wed Oct-03-07 04:31 PM by MrModerate
He was polite, though clearly angry.

All of his guests in the interview segment (John Bolton being the exception who proves the rule, and only because Bolton is such an incompetent and snot-nosed liar) get a respectful few minutes . . . whereas Colbert inevitably plays weird-ass mind games.

I'm not sure I could stand Stewart being even civil to Coulter -- which I'm sure he'd do at least for the first 20 seconds before he asked (politely) an unanswerable, provocative question.

On the other hand, it'd be fun to watch her try to keep up with Stewart, since she clearly considers herself to be quite the witty person, although all of her jokes are aimed at the no-opposable-thumb crowd and rather unfunny to people who've been reincarnated above the level of cockroaches this time around.

Which reminds me of an interview I saw of Robin Williams by Dick Cavett about 20 years ago, when Cavett (a standup comic himself) tried desperately to match riffs with Williams, but got left behind at the starting gate and never caught up. By the time Cavett lifted his finger to emphasize his first punchline, Williams had already done six different impressions, invented a new form of solo polka, and begun to nibble on the fake foliage behind Cavett's chair à la Tarzan the Vegetarian. It was a virtuoso performance, and all Cavett could do was go "uh," every few seconds as Williams morphed into something else.

I'd pay money to see Stewart do that to Coulter.

20. But can't we make fun of her? She is so obviously absurd. Every time she opens her mouth we should...
accept the gift and play with it.

I would like to nominate her for a Golden Burka award for this statement, which is the Tiara on the pile of verbal crap that is her unflagging attempt to get all women dragged back into the cave. (I suppose because this is her only hope of getting any.)

What a confused sack of pus she is.

Maybe since she has already committed voter fraud, she thinks that if she can't vote, no women should.

12. This Is The Death Of The Republican Party, Right Here
Anyone who isn't non-Hispanic white, str8, male, middle-class and resentful won't vote for them. It's the party of white supremacists. You've seen the way the GOP candidates stop just short of outright declaring their disdain for blacks.

That's demographic suicide, right there. The longer this goes on, the more we can pin Coulter's frothing crazy on all of the remaining spiteful, bigoted rump of the party.

They've got three remaining bases: (1) business owners (2) Christian fundamentalists (3) the military.

And looky here, even THAT base is collapsing!!!

(Of course, this doesn't help the antiwar Democrat base with their leadership's OWN betrayal, but at least we're not alone... BOTH parties breaking up might be a positive thing!)

GOP No Longer The Party Of Business?
The Skinny: Heavy Spending Weakens Party's Grip On Fiscal Conservatives
(CBS) The Skinny is Keach Hagey's take on the top news of the day and the best of the Internet.

The Republican Party has been spending money like a shopaholic housewife with a new credit card, and now America's business community wants a divorce.

That's the gist of the Wall Street Journal's lead story, which tracks a multitude of indicators suggesting "a potentially historic shift in the Republican Party's identity" away from its century-long handle as the party of business.

Military contributions shift — away from the GOP

Washington Monthly ran a fascinating series of pieces a couple of months ago with the perspectives of active and retired U.S. troops explaining what they’re looking for from Democrats. Most of those featured seemed less than enthralled by the Republican Party — which assumes it “owns” the military vote — but there was some lingering hesitation about Dems.

The conventional wisdom suggests it’ll be a while, a long while, until Dems are drawing considerable support from those in uniform. But if contribution patterns are any indication, it may not be that long after all. (via Time)

Christian conservatives weigh abandoning GOP

A group of highly influential Christian conservative leaders met over the weekend to discuss their rising dissatisfaction with the Republican Party and their willingness to consider supporting a third-party presidential bid should a supporter of abortion rights — specifically, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani — earn the GOP presidential nomination.

The meeting took place during a weekend convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, of the highly secretive Council for National Policy, an invitation-only organization of conservative leaders, founded in 1981, though participants in the presidential discussion said the smaller gathering was not an official CNP event.

14. If a man said the things she does -
he would not be allowed on the tv to promote his stupid book.

This is a deliberate "fuck-you" to women from the suits of our corporate media.

I am so tired of the sexism I could scream.

Women are 51% of the population.

When I turn on the tv I want 51% of the anchors on the Sunday news programs to be female. I want 51% of the weekday anchors to be female. I expect 51% of the pundits to be female.

GOOD GOD - ITS THE TWENTY FIRST CENTURY.

Instead, we get The View - and that is no accident.

16. has anyone ever asked her why she votes if she's stupid?
she and those who agree with her should revoke their voters registration, tear up their political party cards and hold signs on the streets saying "No to VOTING"

Furthermore, all men who agree with her position should also refrain from voting as a sign of solidarity.

actually the sign I would like to see her hold would "I'm too stupid to vote" - this would explain why bush was (s)elected twice

Let's recap.

Eleanor Roosevelt: too stupid to vote.

"Morans" guy: smart enough to vote.

Coretta Scott King: too stupid

Bill O'Reilly: smart enough

Sandra Day O'Conner: too stupid

Guys from Jackass: smart enough

Come to think of it, some of those Black voters have been getting pretty uppity too.

29. Some people don't get it.
Anthrax is a Comedian. She has become a Millionaire by spouting outrageous BS. That is her product.
The more she pisses people off, the more money she makes. Why does she get TV coverage? She is entertainment. That's what TV is about: Entertainment that provides Advertisers air time to sell products. Why is she laughing all the time? She is not stupid. She is laughing because she knows that many people take what she says seriously. The proof is always here on DU.

30. Coulter is the raw, seething id of the Republican party.
If you want to know what they really think, but are too bound by some restriction to say, listen to Coulter. If you could somehow tap into a random Moran's brain and see what's going on, he'd have a miniature Coulter in his head, saying just these things. So for that, she's useful in an information-gathering kind of way.

One of her main themes is that Democrats are effeminate ("John Edward-what a fag." "I'm more of a man than any Democrat or liberal."). It's fascinating that she chooses to go to the gender issue so often. Given the rumours, you'd think she'd stay far away.

I don't think this dynamic applies to Michael Savage, though. He's just fucking insane. Rubber room insane.
