How to respond to the repugnant ones when they say "tax & spend"
I've started telling them that I'd rather "tax & spend" than to keep on using the failed republican policy of "BORROW & BANKRUPT". It's shut quite a few of them up so far.

Forgive me, but I've been playing on craigslist political forums a bit. You wanna talk about paid shills? That's the place to see them in action. I like slapping them down like the little bugs that they are.

I was bored one day and went rounds with one of the shills for over 2 hours about Blackwater's purchase of the Super Tucano bombers. The idiot just kept on insisting that they weren't bombers and was trying to back it up with information about the Tucano. I think I had him in tears when, at the end, I just told him his reading comprehension skills sucked and that he must have missed the "Super" part at the beginning of Tucano. Two totally different planes..

There's some whackjobs over there for sure... 90% of their posts are nothing but pure drivel and ad hominem attacks... but if you're ever just having a bad day and feel like slapping someone around a little, go over there and have some fun....

1. Borrow and bankrupt
Good phrase. Did you think of it yourself?

4. I've never heard it used anywhere else, so I think I coined the phrase
I even googled "borrow and bankrupt" and didn't see anything where anyone had used it before. If anyone has heard it before, please let me know. Until then, I'm taking credit for it..

2. Another one I use - is why are Republicans so against paying taxes?
Taxes pay for the roads you drive on, the education you received (assuming they did), and I love throwing this in -
taxes pay for our troops in Iraq, and their healthcare if they come home wounded. Paying taxes is what makes America great.

That shuts them up too.

5. right wingers are pretty stupid by nature, they usually shut up fast when
hit with facts. I've seen more than a few of them trying to say Bill Clinton raped Monica Lewinski. I just post information about George W Bush raping Margie Schoedinger, then having her killed when she filed suit against him. That shuts them up too.

Oh, and posting pictures of dead American soldiers shuts them up too when they're advocating more war... they're typically uneducated assholes that don't know anything other than what GreasyPig Limbaugh or Bullshit O'Liarly tells them..

10. Here's a link:
The Strange Death of the Woman Who Filed a Rape Lawsuit Against Bush

By Jackson Thoreau

Early one Saturday afternoon in July 2003, I made a simple phone call to Margie Schoedinger, a Texas woman who filed a rape lawsuit against George W. Bush in December 2002. I expected to leave a message on a machine, so I was caught a little offguard when Schoedinger answered.

She, too, sounded somewhat surprised I had called, saying she hadn't heard from many other reporters. But she talked to me for a few minutes about the legal action.

"I am still trying to prosecute ," said Schoedinger, a 38-year-old African-American woman who lived in the Houston suburb of Missouri City. "I want to get this matter settled and go on with my life."

Well, Schoedinger hasn't gone on with her life. In fact, three months after I spoke to her, she died in an apparent suicide. And this matter remains unsettled.

3. The play on words that I've always liked is: "The Democrats tax and spend,

unlike the Republicans who simply spend and spend."

13. See, they don't understand *definitions*, only small sound bites.
facts and definitions only confuse them. WHy do you think they believe the chimp is a conservative? It's because they don't comprehend the definition of 'conservative', they only recognize the word and relate it with republicanism.

The only news and information they get is the 30 second FAUX NEWS(?) sound bites between the rerun episodes of Married: With Children & Home Improvement. That can be witnessed in the fact that there's a lot of them that think Stephen Colbert is for real.

It's up to us to try to educate them all we can. We have to help break the cycle of ignorance created by the propaganda ministry and at least try to reach these people somehow before they bring up the Era of Ignorance in the next generation.

Or we can just point & laugh at them and call them idiots. Whichever mood you're in at the time...

PEACE!

BTW, I tried to browse that forum, and couldn't figure it out. It looks like a gigantically long thread that I could not reach the end of.

17. Ohh, they react to being called chickenhawk cowards, too! They don't like that..
Ask them "why aren't you over in Iraq fighting in your war that you so vehemently advocate and cheer on?"

**crickets**

Yeah, it's a horrible forum to try to follow. I liked the script for DU's forum so much that I got it and use it on a few of my sites as well.

19. I think it needs to become the new slogan/meme against the repugnant ones.
Get everyone saying it. Send it to Keith Olbermann, John Stewart & Stephen Colbert!

The republicans are the party of borrow and bankrupt. They have no plan on how to pay the money back that they keep borrowing and they are bankrupting the country by the minute. Time is running short for us to pull our economy out of a nosedive. George W Bush MUST be stopped at all costs before we turn into a 3rd world country overnight.

IMPEACH! INDICT! IMPRISON!

20. I haven't been to a yahoo board in a long time. I may have to check it out
and let you know. I tried to get into the Bellsouth message boards but couldn't, even though I have an account with them too. I keep a dial up account just in case my satellite internet ever goes out for some reason. I think it's because of my connection because I can't access their chat rooms either, and I used to enjoy going in there. I met a lot of good friends in Bellsouth's 40somethings chat room.

As far as craigslist is concerned, it's mostly like dealing with a group of 5 year olds, with a few grownups tossed in here and there... I've been in a bad mood this week, so I've taken it out on a few idiots over there. It's good therapy.

22. Never heard of it... but my dialup is only $4.95/mo right on my phone bill
... or I could access through my mothers account if it ever came down to it. I did that when I first moved up here from Ga, until I got my own account. Just gotta have a local dialup number for bellsouth connection....

23. The Yahoo message boards have been shut down
for about a year or so.

But they were fun. There was no better place to smash nasty right-wingers into the ground. It was hard work for many years, but about three years ago alot of either new or previously uncommitted people started seeing the light in a big way and they were just all over the neverending right-wing BS. It was heartwarming, in a hunt them down and kill them kind of way.

25. I might try craigslist forums sometime
but I barely have enough time or interest in DU any more. Other activities are pulling me away, plus the DHL rancor around here has become so pervasive. It just makes me want to fight with other progressives. It's kind of odd, but I'm really bored with fighting Republicans. Maybe it's because I'm already putting them in the has-been column. Which is dangerous. This cycle won't last forever though.

29. Right. But pose it to them as a question:
I look them in the eye and put this sincere question to them:

"Okay. If tax-and-spend is bad, how can borrow-and-spend be good?"

I've never gotten an answer yet.
