DUers who have been made to sacrifice their lives and livelihoods for Bush's militarism check in
Edited on Fri Sep-28-07 09:27 AM by bigtree

Thank you. You are truly exceptions in our country today, taking on the bulk of the politicians' ambitions abroad, fighting and dying overseas, while the rest of the country remains out of harm's way and encouraged to go on with their lives as if they were unaffected by the squandering of your humanity in Iraq.

The nation honored the service of those soldiers we called "the greatest generation" by sacrificing here at home to support them while they were on the battlefield. The attitude from many today is that you have somehow brought the horrible effects of your deployment on yourselves by enlisting and deserve no special recognition. I believe that your unwavering commitment to remain in our nation's defense while politicians in Washington bicker and procrastinate about your mission deserves our unending gratitude. I honor your service with my unwavering commitment to ending Bush's reckless, blundering militarism.

May we never forget your sacrifices. May we live up to the faith you've shown in our democracy by your commitment to serve in our nation's military forces by remaining dedicated to ending Bush's reign.

1. In contrast to Zandor's thread, I'm guessing this is supposed to be a flame fest, right?
I'll pass.

2. you are responsible for YOUR OWN actions
NOTHING in my post deserves flames in my opinion. Read it, It is an expression of support for the troops and a rebuke of Bush's militarism which dishonors their service. Nothing more. If someone wants to address that by lashing out then that's their choice, not my invitation.
