he is, and get rid of him. He's an embarrassment to them.

his party took a thumping; a direct reflection of his popularity. Like bush, he's widely hated by many Iranians.

the president of Iran can only be identified as a dictator by people who are not afraid of looking like Republicans (stupidheads).

When the choices in an election are previously determined by other than democratic methods, you can't call the winner of the election "democratically elected".

4. Ahmadinejad is a kook in the manner that Bush is one.
Both of them are guilty of using double speak and sloganeering as a means to confuse and control the public. We need a Democrat in the Whitehouse, because only they can deal with Ahmadinejad in the proper manner. I would hate to see a war with Iran, especially if it is Bush v. Ahmadinejad. Two kooks fighting with powerful weapons and peoples lives is just too unnerving for me.

16. I am all for communication. But these two are kookie.
A reasonable Democrat will be able to rally Europe, Canada, and Japan behind a unified front. That would be enough to stop Ahmadinejad from building a nuclear bomb. Talks will be central part of this operation. War will be the last option, but not with Bush though.

But, by acting the role of foreign invaders, we've kept their radical clergy in power and prevented what was an inevitable Westernization. We, in large part, made the bed they're having to lay in, and certainly we've made our own.

23. Did anyone else notice
Here's one of Pelley's questions:

"I asked President Bush what he would say to you if he were sitting in this chair. And he told me-quote-speaking to you, that you’ve made terrible choices for your people. You’ve isolated your nation you’ve taken a nation of proud and honorable people and made your country the pariah of the world. These are President Bush’s words to you," Pelley said. "What’s your reply?"

Was W talking about Iran or what he's done for the USA during his reign?

I was getting concerned today viewing all the pro-Ahmadinejad threads. Evil is evil, whether it presides over Iran or America. Just because Bush and the rest of the RW nutjob hate him is no reason to assume he's a good person, or even that his government is superior to our own. A stopped clock is right twice a day, and the enemy of your enemy isn't necessarily your friend.

First they came…
by Pastor Martin Niemoller

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then They Came for Me
by Stephen F. Rohde, Esq.
First they came for the Muslims, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Muslim.
Then they came to detain immigrants indefinitely solely upon the certification of the Attorney General, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't an immigrant.
Then they came to eavesdrop on suspects consulting with their attorneys, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a suspect.
Then they came to prosecute non-citizens before secret military commissions, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a non-citizen.
Then they came to enter homes and offices for unannounced "sneak and peek" searches, and I didn't speak up because I had nothing to hide.
Then they came to reinstate Cointelpro and resume the infiltration and surveillance of domestic religious and political groups, and I didn't speak up because I had stopped participating in any groups.
Then they came for anyone who objected to government policy because it aided the terrorists and gave ammunition to America's enemies, and I didn't speak up because...... I didn't speak up.
Then they came for me....... and by that time no one was left to speak up.
Stephen Rohde, a constitutional lawyer and President of the ACLU of Southern California, is indebted to the inspiration of Rev. Martin Niemoller (1937).
Then they came for me... (an updated version)
First they came for the welfare mothers, but I did not speak out; I wasn't a welfare mother.
Then they came for the union workers with union busting tactics, but I did not speak out; I wasn't a union worker.
Then they came for the minimum wage workers, by refusing to raise the minimum wage, but I did not speak out; I wasn't a minimum wage worker.
Then they came for the unemployed, setting stricter eligibility standards, but I did not speak out; I was not unemployed.
Then they came for the homeless, reducing funding for low-income housing, criminalizing sitting on the street, criminalizing sleeping in public, but I did not speak out; I was not homeless.
Then they came for the hungry people, reducing funding for food assistance programs, but I did not speak out; I was not hungry.
Then they came for the Katrina victims & survivors, but I did not speak out. I couldn't speak out. You see, several weeks before Katrina, I lost my job, I lost my car... I had no money & no way to evacuate. I drowned in the flood.
DUers need to realize that exposing him for the suppressor of human rights does not mean supporting an invasion of Iran.
That he, like Chavez, are despicable democratically elected ego maniacals (like Hitler) who should be detested by any freedom loving people in the world.
Apparently, many DUers do not see themselves in this light, preferring, instead, to follow Bush's dogma of "you are either with us or against us."
And I always thought that we, liberals, do not see the world in black and white.
