Are the elite trying to rid the world of its "excess population"?
when looking at the power elite of the world they seem to have little or no concern for the least of humanity, namely the poor of the third world. They die by the millions due to the lack of simple things like sanitation, water, immunizations, and so forth.

I think that the richest people in the world have decided that poorest must go.

They have retreated behind walls and layers of security for the widespread chaos that will occur. The seeds have been planted. AIDS and other diseases, mid-east war, loose nukes, global climate change, things that could have been prevented if the powers that be had acted in a timely manner.

I believe much of the turmoil in the world is a deliberate attempt to set populations against each other. So far it is been on a small scale, a war here a famine there, we are being primed to kill off a Large fraction of ourselves. All it will take is the right spark.

So what will it be? Global warming is my guess. The rise of sea level will result in a refugee crisis that will put billions on the move to areas where food is getting harder to grow because of depleted soil and lack of rain. Populations will naturally move to protect themselves from being over run by starving people.

In the midst of this man made Armageddon the one who can lay their hands on fuel, food, and weapons will be firmly in control. The US government has huge stockpiles of almost everything. If the shit hits the fan these stockpiles will not be for us but for the right people to consolidate power. The only employment will be as security goons or as slave drivers for the surviving population.

In the end they will have what they want, the power of life and death over a frightened and starving population and negative population growth.

To many this scenario may seem far fetched, but I think that it will happen because mankind has always forced out or killed the people he sees as a drag on society and as there is nowhere to flee to death is the only thing left.

God I hope I am wrong but I don't see humanity changing its ways any time soon. Life is becoming cheaper every day. There may come a time when the deaths of millions is an abstract concept when compared with keeping your family alive for one more day.

1. Yes.
I thought it was obvious.
A killoff before the dieoff.
Is there really any doubt?

3. I think the elite are trying to rid the world of the excess wealth and power...
that the non-elite have. If some or most die, so be it. Those that live...well, without wealth or power they're not much more than dogs or pack animals, are they?

4. The truth may be in the middle.
Besides, I'd rather not guess, one way or the other. Guessing is only as good as connecting the dots and the dots can be connected in so many ways, I don't think there is a conspiracy.

Even if that is what's happening, which I doubt. Don't forget, lots of people, including the Pope, are lambasting honky white nations for not making as many children.

Besides, the news has ALWAYS been full of violence and sensationalism. The only thing different now is people are more tolerant of pinheads like Lindsay Spears (names changed a bit to protect them)... and the media that keeps making big money off of them, because people seem to want to know more about them, don't ask me why...

5. Wouldn't it make more sense to do it quickly and less viciously?

I mean, we seem to be catching on and eventually we'll get desperate and pissed off enough to turn on them?

Why not do it quicker and less painlessly and cut back on the suffering of the masses and thereby prevent the many revolutions that will pop up all throughout the world. Are they really that hateful and vindictive that they want to see people suffer in agony before having to kill themselves and their families because they are so desperate or to have to die of a horrible disease without health care or painkillers because they are without insurance or money to even pay for street drugs?

Sick MOFO's - all of them :grr:

7. Won't necessarily work out that way. Black Death in Europe led
to a redistribution of wealth, and eventually the enlightenment. Of course, our Puritan forefathers then fled that same enlightenment to form a perfect religious community here, but that's another story. Point is, the rich folk may not be immune to the troubles we seem to be falling headlong into.

12. they think they are gods
They see the writing on the wall and have made plans to survive the upheaval. They are in a much better position to make the best of it or even profit from it. Remember "Doctor strangelove" where they are discussing how to survive in mine shafts? Before long the discussion turns to the benefits for the men who will live in them.

8. didn't the French Royality try this?
seems to me the attempt had a rather... unpleasant... ending.
Don't piss off the prols, there are more of them.
And as every medieval castle holder knew, it only takes one traitor on the inside for the whole castle to be lost.

9. On the other hand, why would the elites be giving India and China middle classes on a platter?
when (some) IT work is coming back to the US due to poor mangling of the code?

And with China's screw-ups, they've put themselves in a bind that will have the world avoiding them if these recalls and other problems continue.

Maybe the truth is in the middle, but given time to think about many issues, even tangential issues, it's not adding up.

11. Nah...there are too many people sucking the world economy dry with their "needs."
But Plague, Famine, Typhoons and locusts will take care of what Endless War doesn't manage to do with killing them off.
