Was Bush drunk last night?
Did anyone else notice that Bush was slurring his speech?

If a cop had pulled him over, the cop would have asked him to step out of the car and take a sobriety test.

Could it be that the leader of the free world sounded gulped down a few shots of "liquid courage" before going on the air?

1. I don't think he was. I think he was so intent on not screwing it up he
tired towards the end and started being his usual lazy self.

2. I don't know
He sounded to me like a guy who was trying hard to hide that he was drunk.

3. There is NO WAY he's be drunk for an appearance such as that,
as much as people would like to believe otherwise.

4. Right.
Zero chance. He has personality traits that cause people to mistakenly believe otherwise sometimes, but he is not off the wagon.

5. I disagree
Having known some hard-core alcoholics, I am amazed at the things they do (or think they can do) while "pickled."

6. Bush is often drunk.
His being a drunk, however, is not what makes him a bad president. Plenty of good heads of state or government were drunks.

15. Even Reagan didn't look that bad..
if it's Alzheimer's or Parkinsons, it's not in the early stages anymore.

9. Good call, multiple diagnoses possible however:

His speech has been quite slurred lately...you notice that on his radio addresses since visual cues tend to overwhelm subtle changes in speech patterns. suggest you listen to the Saturday broadcasts (if you can manage) and hear the elision of words and mumbling.

10. My theory about the new Elvis syndrome
I believe that * & PickleLady** are both under "managed care." When there is a major appearance, they are "prepared" for it by a medical expert to be passably sober for the event. Elvis's doctor was a hack, and didn't have access to a whole new wave of psychotropic pharmaceuticals that trigger differing patterns of brain activity (no medical knowledge here, my language may be imprecise). So less speed and cocaine, more scripts.

As for drinking, oh yeah, he's drinking. Especially when the keepers aren't looking. But by the way, Valium causes slowed speech, too.

I hope y'all don't think I'm too cynical.

**PickleLady smiles like a clown freak half the time--especially on an airplane wave-by. Take a look next time.

12. Pickles is just sad looking. I can't imagine being her.
She has also aged badly. Her face is all stony. And it's not from "laugh lines."

I feel for her but mostly, I shudder.

14. Agree, they have probably a full time pharmacist on staff..
to control their moods as needed. That's been going on for a while now.

11. my guess is xanax or klonopin
Speaking as someone who spent two years in a constant drug induced fog, it appears to me that our glorious leader is being 'managed' through further increasing amounts of benzodiazapenes. While I believe that this is very serious and grounds for removal from office because of 'diminished capabiliies', I pray that he does not EVER decide to stop the medications. Withdrawls from that garbage will mess you up for months.

Tons of other people have surmised that he is on drugs and I believe them.
