Ding: My "Scary Scenario" for Coming Iran War (B-52, Stand Down, Attack, Iran Blamed)
I'll get right to it:

B-52 carrying live nukes halfway across the country
As a result, stand down on Friday for Air Force
Stand Down order was made public for whatever reason (should be TOP SECRET)
MAJOR sabre-rattling this week in favor of strike on IRAN

Now let's see if this happens:
Major terrorist attack within the next few days, BLAMED ON IRAN
IRAN WAR ON! Major casualties, more attacks here in the U.S.
Oil prices skyrocket, world economy hit.
China and Russia enter into the fray.
All bets are off as to what happens next...
:scared:

2. add to that Israel Openly bombing Considered nuclear sites in Syria
and the Russians flying EUropean watch flights they abandoned in the late 60's to calm down the cold war.

you're scary scenario is happening right before the eyes of the American public and all we can worry about is some Republican hypocrite jacking off in an airport bathroom.

4. Remember the justice department showdown at hospital....
and the threat of mass resignations if the wire tap program continued?

I wonder how many showdowns are going on behind the scenes now? With the military, with Cheney, in the Justice Department, in some military bunker that houses weapons?

Good luck to the good guys!

9. I anticipate many false alarms before "The Big One"(tm)
All the better to discredit "conspiracy theorists" after an actual attack.

10. If you haven't already seen these threads...
Edited on Wed Sep-12-07 06:54 PM by warren pease
here's a few recent ones containing some pretty informed opinion, as well as comment from some AF personnel familiar with dealing with nuclear weapons -- all of whom say this is unprecedented, is too far out of normal procedures and involves too many highly trained personnel to be excused as a thoughtless screw-up, and is possibly/probably the end-game of a plot -- planned and ordered at the highest civilian levels (as in Dickie the Cyborg) -- to do pretty much what your OP suggests.

Only thing that stopped it was three AF officers who saw such potential for madness in this event that they risked their careers to blow the whistle to an Army Times reporter (a Gannett paper, not a piece of pentagon propaganda).

And if they can't get away with it now, there's always mid-October when Operation Valiant Shield / TopOFF takes place, using the scenario that terrorists have exploded a dirty nuke and it's up to the forces of goodness and righteousness to fix the mess. Link to TopOFF info here: http://tinyurl.com/3yjqmn

NOTE: Edited to mention that TopOFF is the dirty nuke scenario war game; Valiant Shield is a MARTIAL LAW exercise that happens to be running concurrently with TopOFF. But nothing to see here... move on, citizen...
