Did firefighters in your community wear "FDNY" tee-shirts yesterday?

I was eating at a local restaurant yesterday for lunch when a firetruck pulled up and parked. Three firefighters climbed out of the truck and came in the restaurant to eat. They were wearing their usual gear but they all had a dark blue/black tee-shirt with "FDNY" on the back.

Did anyone else notice this in your community? I wonder if it was a nation-wide observance of those firefighters who gave their lives on 9/11...

had a red-white-blue floral arrangement out front with 9-11 Never Forget and the number of FDNY firefighters lost displayed.
