for the chaos we inflicted.

6. he said we should not have had these hearings today
It perpetuates the notion that Iraq was linked to 9/11.

8. You and I must be watching a different hearing - he just gave his stump speech all over again
And never did manage to get a question out that had not already been asked by someone else.

9. Don't piss on my parade, man! LOL!

On edit--to be honest, I thought Boxer, Feingold and Hagel did a better job, at least in the passion and outrage department, but they are FAR more experienced at this sort of hearing, so that's OK.

except in Barney's dreams.

a fine executive. We have a nice, deep field this time. :)

20. Don't damn Obama with faint praise. The village idiot would come off more presidential than Bush.

15. I thought he did a great job of adding some much needed perspective to this
dog and pony show.

Any success in Anbar is because of political decisions made by the Sunni tribes, not our surge. The fact that the bar has been set so low for success that they are touting as success things that aren't. The chaos and intolerable violence has been somewhat lessened by the addition of 20,000 addition troops to a slightly lower level of chaos and intolerable violence. That is touted as a great success but it's not.

I didn't hear all of his statement but liked what I heard. Crocker and Petraeus have been good at filibustering and using up people's time without answering any of the tough questions anyway.

had been asked but not answered. no big deal but just an example how we are all individuals with different interest ;-)

22. his critcism is of the neverending effort...
by the administration and their supporters to conflate 9/11 and Iraq, thus he questioned the timing of the hearings based on that aspect....he, on the other hand is not trying to conflate the two, so the timing of his speech is irrelevant to efforts to conflate 9/11 and Iraq because he has made it clear repeatedly that the two ARE NOT related...
