Heard a freeper talking today, listen to why pollution is good for us:
Because "if global warming really does exist, pollution blocks it from hitting the earth, so pollution is actually good for us"

I KID YOU NOT!!! Next week, I'm finding a new seat in the class.

5. he's talking about global dimming...
we've lost 22% of the sunlight reaching earth. Global warming would be worse if not for the particulates floating around. Not to say suggest that the particulates are good for us, just that they are masking the true extent of the problem.

3. He probably watched the PBS program last week on "Global Dimming"
Which explained how air pollution blocked sunlight, creating a cooling effect. There were scientists who said that it mitigated global warming to a certain extent. They said that simply dealing with greenhouse gases was not enough. All airborne particulates needed to be dealt with.

4. Well
They used to say: Smells like money to me.

I never could understand why they think polluting our air could be any good whatsoever, but damn if they don't. The idiots will say anything to allow corporations to destroy their environment.

8. and while we're at it...
we could get all those industrial smokestacks belching again and get rid of catalytic converters. That would send the freepers to seventh heaven.

7. Rush would be proud
Edited on Mon Sep-10-07 01:31 PM by StClone
Rush is anti-drug while hooked on hill billy heroin.
He accuses Peace activists of hating America
Rush's Conservative Values include a 3rd divorce and unprescribed Viagra on sex trips to Dom. Rep.
Rush is just a comedian when it comes to telling his authoritarian lackey followers that black is white, the wealthy are better and the pollution is good for you 'cause it shades us from that fake Global warming.

11. that is actually true in one case
Some sulfur compounds to tend to block incoming solar radiation, and have been suggested as desperation measures by some scientists to block runaway global warming.
