Gravel Supporters: Why Mike?
This is the seventh in a series of postings asking DUers to explain why they support their candidate. It started with a posting by another person which asked for Hillary supporters to justify their support. I've continued with postings on Kucinich, Obama, Edwards, Richardson and Biden. Now's a chance for supporters of Mike Gravel to tell us why (and maybe convince us) they support Mike!

Have at it!

3. Gravel makes Kucinich maistream.
Whoever is funding Gravel keep doing it. I support all Gravels ideas. We all should, it doesn't mean we have to vote for him. All I want to see is Dennis on the ticket and vp would be a better place for him.

6. I've loved eccentric old Mike Gravel
from way back when he was my senator back in the '70s. I know he doesn't stand a chance in hell of winning, but I like the way he speaks his mind and bucks the status quo. I love that he's a peace-monger and that he wants to give ordinary Americans more of a voice in their government. I think he helps to keep the other candidates on their toes.

7. He doesn't do it for me. But we have a dearth of good choices.
The big ones, even Edwards, are too afraid to challenge "conventional wisdom" and "values voter" blah blah blah. (witness his pandering on gay marriage) No one is standing up for brave nonpartisan proposals- end the drug war, cut the M/I complex down to size, invest massively in renewable energy & infrastructure, SPHC system, legalize and tax marijuana, stand up for womens' right to choose, peoples' right to control their own bodies, end the wars on consenting adult behavior that harms no one except uptight censorship happy nanny-statists, etc. etc.

For my money, Kucinich is as close as we get.
