I'm going to be in a "roundtable" discussion w/Obama tomorrow!
I must be out of my mind, but I volunteered for it. I don't know if it will be televised. Just eight of us and Obama, talking about restoring trust in government. I'll probably be back here tonight or in the wee hours of the morning because I doubt that I'll be able to sleep! I'm an introvert; what was I thinking?!!!

3. I'd love to sneak that in!
Who knows? Maybe I'll have a chance to, but I think that if I manage to unclench my jaw at all I'll be doing well.

4. Make some notes for yourself. Think, in advance about what you want to say
and then, be sure you say it! I suspect you will find him very comfortable to talk to. Wonderful opportunity! Let us know how it goes!

6. Thanks for the advice.
I already know that I'll be asking him about prescription drugs and Medicare Part D. We're going to talk about ways that we feel we've been let down by government. I just entered the "donut hole", which is something you know about all too well if you're on Medicare Part D. Since the plan started in Jan., I've been through $2,400 in prescriptions, so now I'm in the donut "hole" and I have to pay the next $3,500 out of pocket. My prescriptions cost me about $500 a month. In January, I start all over again so I'm covered for another four or five months, but through it all I'm still paying premiums of about $45 a month. I simply don't have the money to buy all my prescriptions, so I'll be taking some of them every other day or so from now on. I know I'm not the only one in this situation, so I'm hoping to do well tomorrow.

7. Good idea ~ notes are always important

For the Lucky One....
Take a pen and write Key Words in the palm of your hand. :)

Also, I would be willing to bet that he is basically shy too.

This old school teacher has looked at hundreds of children that have that same "inside shy" look that Obama seems to exhibit.

15. I love the "write Key Words in the palm of your hand" part!
I'll have to make sure I write on my left hand, though, because I don't want to shake his hand and get ink all over him!

5. I'm an extrovert, can I go for you? LOL
:applause:

I am so happy for you!

Can't wait to hear all the questions you are going to ask.

Don't forget to tell him that he has many loyal fans at DU and that he needs to make sure that his staff checks us out!

You'll do a fantastic job and remember that you are representing all of the "mile a minute talkers" that love him.

So, don't forget that you are speaking up for everyone of us!

You might want to do a search of all of the recent posts that he may be interested in and run off copies for his staff to take a look at in their "free" time.

8. But no pressure, right?
HAH! I've mentioned DU at Obama campaign headquarters, but there are alot of things the staff and interns are not allowed to get involved in. We'll see and hope for the best! (They can't get involved as official Obama staff, but they can as plain ole' liberals.)

9. Just remember that he's probably nervous, too
And then picture him sitting there in his bathrobe. You'll be fine!

12. He comes across like that kind of person
He's climbed a lot of "mountains" in his life.

I hope you have a great time and look forward to your report back of all the doings!

11. Ask him if he really wants to end the war on Iraq
or if he is planning on leaving troops there.

Talk to him as though he's your best friend's son. You'll feel more comfortable. Tell us all about it.

18. It isn't hard to be well-informed.
I'll be telling my story about my experience with Medicare Part D (prescription insurance). I know it by heart, believe me. Now all I have to do is get it out without tripping over my tongue and I'll be all set! Thanks for your good wishes.
