Received this e-mail regarding 9/11..........."Lights On"

LIGHTS ON.....9/11

PLEASE forward this email to everyone in your address book asking them
to also forward it. Please join us on 9/11. We have over two weeks to get
the word out all across this great land we love and call the United
States of America. Let's see how powerful e-mail can be!

On Tuesday, September 11, 2007 everyone in the USA who
will be driving a motor vehicle is asked to drive with their headlights
on during daylight hours. Though no explanation is needed as to why we
are commemorating September 11, we hope more importantly to pay
respect to the victims of that day, show our nation's solidarity and
show support for our men and women of the Armed Forces.
You can help by sending this e-mail on to others!

REMEMBER!

LIGHTS ON.....9/11

1. Ever heard of a viral meme?
To what effect will lights on be when we still see a nation mired in questions, controversy, and cover-ups that smack of the JFK assignation?

I mean, the Titanic sank and we call all agree on that, right? Or are there atitanics amongst us? There was a WW1, and WW2, right? Hair grows. Argue that one! Whacking yourself in the head with a board will hurt, or do we apologetics for that fact?

The worst thing we can do is resort to memes that are totally ineffectual and exist only to provide a feel-good catharsis for the endemic problems we face. There is far too much compelling controversy around an event that, in all due respects, should have been more cut and dried considering the level of sophistication and technology that we currently possess.

There are important and reasonable doubts to what is considered the "official" story of an event that changed and scarred our political landscape in so many ways that it would take hours to post them here. The import and impact of the event has yet to find a satisfactory and conclusive result in our culture, so I leave it at that.

If you want to waste your time in a protest using auto headlights and then feel good about it afterwards, then I hope it was worth it in you mind. If you want to effect and enact some sort of change, then I assure you far more inspection, introspection, and fervent action will be required to do so in relation to the machinery that manages to make the most ridiculous mindfucks seem realistic and practical in our time.

2. I don't like this.
Instead of driving around with your lights on,
how bout going on into the streets.

There is a big march planned for that day, i believe, why not join the march instead.

Having your lights on will accomplish nothing.

4. Better yet. On 9/11, from 8:00 am until 9:30 am, everyone should
give the middle finger salute in the direction of Saudi Arabia. You can do it repetitively or continuously if you can find a comfortable place to rest your arm. For the rest of the day, until midnight, do the same thing in the direction of Washington, DC.
It could become the peace symbol, or anti-peace symbol, of the 21st century. This sign could be hi-jacked for peace.:dem:

5. I am able to drive my vehicle with its lights on because my country
is plundering another country to fuel my vehicle so I can drive it around with its lights on.

This administration's logic regarding Iraq/911/Terrorism is as convoluted as the above sentence.
