To what effect will lights on be when we still see a nation mired in questions, controversy, and cover-ups that smack of the JFK assignation?
I mean, the Titanic sank and we call all agree on that, right? Or are there atitanics amongst us? There was a WW1, and WW2, right? Hair grows. Argue that one! Whacking yourself in the head with a board will hurt, or do we apologetics for that fact?
The worst thing we can do is resort to memes that are totally ineffectual and exist only to provide a feel-good catharsis for the endemic problems we face. There is far too much compelling controversy around an event that, in all due respects, should have been more cut and dried considering the level of sophistication and technology that we currently possess.
There are important and reasonable doubts to what is considered the "official" story of an event that changed and scarred our political landscape in so many ways that it would take hours to post them here. The import and impact of the event has yet to find a satisfactory and conclusive result in our culture, so I leave it at that.
If you want to waste your time in a protest using auto headlights and then feel good about it afterwards, then I hope it was worth it in you mind. If you want to effect and enact some sort of change, then I assure you far more inspection, introspection, and fervent action will be required to do so in relation to the machinery that manages to make the most ridiculous mindfucks seem realistic and practical in our time.
