What I heard this morning on KMTT 103.7, The Mountain.
I was driving to work at the ungodly early hour of 6am when the DJ announced that Albert Gonzales was resigning. The only surprising thing was that it happened now instead of months ago. But what really made me smile was the bit of editorializing engaged in by the DJ and I paraphrase: Albert Gonzales did hold one of his values to the bitter end, that value being his untruthfulness to the American people. Rumors were circulating this weekend about his possible departure and his spokesperson was asked about it. She said she had just spoken to Mr. Gonzales and he told her it was untrue. But he had, in fact, told George Bush on Friday afternoon about his resignation. And that's about all I have to say about that!

Cost of the coffee needed to wake me up at that awful hour: $2.00
Cost to my sleep and health to get up that early: expensive
Hearing a DJ from my favorite radio station call out Albert Gonzales for lying once again: priceless

5. Marty is your brother?
Or do you mean in spirit, 'cause he sure was to me this morning. I didn't think it was possible to laugh at the time of the morning.

8. Well, actually The Mountain leans more toward the reality based community
than say, most of the stations in Texas (Don't get mad. I'm from there).

14. Wouldn't get mad anyway--
it's a factual statement, not one of those "I just generally hate Texas" things.... ;)

(I'm from there too.)
