Branson/Colbert Interview Coming Up

Branson and Colbert could not get along. Branson is big ole liberal. Unless nobody gave him the memo that Colbert is satire and he took whatever attack SC did as "true."

14. I think they scripted it all. They had to make up a reason for

Richard to get "angry"--that he didn't have enough time to promote his airline--yeah, right. They were laughing through 90% of the interview and obviously have a lot of mutual respect. Also, wasn't it handy that a staffer just happened to have a full bottle of water to bring out to Stephen a few seconds after Richard started it?

Colbert made the most of this "trainwreck" and the publicity.

Colbert and his writers are amazing at using their guests' best attributes to make things fun.

They even did a huge handshake at the end. Just goes to show how things get twisted in the retelling. :shrug:

What Richard Branson did was the act of a giant tool. That was incredibly rude and Stephen took the high road. Just one of the many reasons I love him!

and he -- with Stephen's help -- did it again! :D  The
"feud" and the subsequent media/Colbert build-up was
a great way to gain viewership of an otherwise ordinary
interview.

18. I Finally Got To Watch It

Stephen passed the water bottle back to Branson so he could get the last squirt in. It didn't seem like a lot of anger to me.
