1. I heard Karl Rove deny that he confirmed her to Novak
Edited on Sun Aug-19-07 01:23 PM by MissWaverly
c'mon, we all know that George Bush, Sr. fired him for leaking to Novak. Denial was on Karl's version of Spin the Press,
with David Gregory filling in for Timmy.

BTW: Novak says that Karl Rove was his confirming source for Valerie Plame on an earlier MTP.

And right now, Karl's credibility factor is in the crapper.

4. Yes, he said if I remember correctly
that his response to Novak was: "I have heard that too." - indicating that it was someone else, hasn't that
been the mo for them from day one. He also said that Prez inherited a recession from Clinton, which he
did not and that we had to respond to the attack on 9-11 by attacking those (like Iraq) that supported
terrorists (another whopper).

3. Well, he was the one who told Tweety she was "fair game"--and Tweety was the one who ratted him out
to the Wilsons--Tweety called Joe Wilson and gave him chapter and verse as to what Rove said... I give Tweety props for that.

7. Cooper's July 2005 article re: his testimony to grand jury re: Rove:

Rove was his original source and Libby confirmed.

Previous to Cooper's grand jury testimony, Newsweek got a copy of an email Cooper had sent to his boss right after his conversaion with Rove so it was publicly known Rove had leaked to Cooper before Cooper even testified: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8525978/site/newsweek/page/0/

Cooper also testified at Libby's trial regarding his conversation with Libby.

Even Rove's lawyer, Luskin, finally admitted in July 2005 that Rove had leaked to Cooper when it was evident that Cooper was going to testify to the grand jury: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/10/AR2005071001000.html (Although Luskin at the time was still claiming that the discussion was not solely about Wilson and the leak happened at the tail end of a conversation on another subject. Rove's cover story was that he spoke to Cooper about welfare reform. As Cooper later testified, the subject from the beginning was Wilson.)

9. Right.
Rove had been spreading the story. He spoke with Novak and Cooper. And even before Mr. Fitzgerald joined the case, Jack Eckenrode and others were aware of things that indicated Rove and Novak may have been in contact to get their stories straight.
