Bob Schieffer still is one of the straight forward reporters.

In his closing today he explained that over the years, he found out how to quickly recognize if he was getting a straight answer to his questions or not. He said when somebody starts their answer with "well, #1..." or "The real question is..." conditions, you know your being lead down the rabbit trail. When someone wants to answer you truthfully, they answer quickly, and briefly!

He then went on to talk about how this President has continually stated he would make his decisions based upon Gen. Petreus' report...have patience and wait for the General's report..... Now we're told that the General isn't even going to WRITE the report! I believe we're NOT going to get straight & truthful answers on Iraq, and it's a SHAME!

Bob still points out facts that a lot of casual observers miss, and there are very few of today's crop of reporters who do that.
