Bikini's are a sin according to Rapture Ready....
http://www.rr-bb.com/showthread.php?t=11235

I just hope these poor Christian men stay away from the beaches of the South Of France or The Costa Brava. They would be hard for a week at the sight of so much bare flesh. Oh the temptation when their wives won't go out of the house with so much as a bit of cleavage showing.
Of course the men that go to those beaches with nude women, see it as normal, natural and can cope with the sight without the need to cheat on their partners due to self-restraint and the fact they are grown up about the bodies of the opposite sex.

3. So, just to set the record true and clear, it's bikinis that are sinful and
nakedness is ok?

Were Eve and Adam booted out of Paradise for wearing bikinis? I thought they were naked. And whose idea was it that nakedness is sinful? I kinda like it.

As for Rapturing, since no one knows when the Rapture is slated, is it not at least possible that fundies might be IN a bikini when the big moment kicks in?

Or in the shower, even.

Then what?

17. Fashion Faux Pas, indeed
There are many, some of which are promulgated by some of the wowsers themselves: I submit that Madras or American flag shorts, worn with sandals and socks on older overweight men ought to be a crime. Hubby adds the above with unbuttoned shirts.

Spandex shorts should not be worn by anyone who is overweight, of any gender.

The sale of bikinis should be limited to those young/thin enough to wear them "gracefully". Nudity is actually preferable to having flab bulging over too-tight bathing suits. I maintain neither bikinis nor nudity are sinful, but can be distasteful in certain situations. (Or illegal, in others.)

Fashion recommendation to less than perfect bodies(I am one): an over-size t-shirt covers a multitude of sins and adipose tissue, and prevents sunburn.

Seriously. What the hell is that?

It's a fashion statement that seems to say, "I was getting dressed for work, but then I remembered that I'm retired. So I slipped on the shorts and went to the bank."

Damn.

26. alas, I have seen that "outfit", too
perhaps it ought to be added to the list of "sins"

And the Angel of the Lord said unto the Vacationers: Go not into the road wearing of plaid Madras shorts whilst thou wearest black hose and dress shoes. Thou shalt incur the wrath of the Angels of Fashion, and they shall smite thee, and scourge thee until thou shalt run to thy closet and wear of other garments. Amen.

16. This from the articule in the OP

"As an adolescent, her role model is Britney Spears, a singer whose act
approximates a strip tease. From Britney, she learns that she will be
loved only if she gives sex. Thus, she learns to "hook up" rather than
to demand patient courtship and true love. As a result, dozens of
males know her before her husband does. She loses her innocence, which
is a part of her charm. She becomes hardened and calculating. Unable
to love, she is unfit to receive her husband's seed.

The feminine personality is founded on the emotional relationship
between mother and baby. It is based on nurturing and self-sacrifice.
Masculine nature is founded on the relationship between hunter and
prey. It is based on aggression and reason. "

What a piece of shit this man is.... clearly love women.. not!

And this is outrageous .....

"My mom went to work for awhile and so I started getting dropped off at a babysitters, who happened to be the Preacher's wife where we went to church. I remember it being the middle of summer and she had a sprinkler going in the yard and I asked if I could play in it and she said no because I didn't have proper clothing. The next day my mom packed a little bathing suit but the lady said it wasn't appropriate and the shorts I had wore there were too short cuz they didn't come down to my knees and that halter tops weren't acceptable clothing to wear outdoors either. 5 years old mind you."

What kind of pervert thinks that a five year old girl, in a swimsuit would cause a man to lust for that is the apparent reason that women should dress modestly....

Oh and it seems going to the beach could be sinful too...

"Is wanting to go to the beach and laying out in what amounts to waterproof underwear really Christian or is it just running after our own pleasures?"

It may be for "pleasures", but mostly an invitation for skin cancer. And where in the OT or NT does it say no one is allowed to ever have fun.

36. "...where in the OT or NT does it say no one is allowed to...

It doesn't...:)

That is an old Calvanist notion that has carried over to what I call, "The Protestant Ethic".
The basic idea is that, "Somewhere, someone is enjoying themselves, we are duty bound to end this immediately."

What people like the guy quoted seem to forget is the that old saw from the Bible, "Judge not, lest ye be judged."

There is an OT quote I like as well attributed to Solomon, "Even a fool can seem wise, if he keeps his mouth closed."...

And as my husband never tired of reminding me in the early years of our marriage, there is one commandment that Jews have historically taken as an injunction to husbands and wives to shtup on the Sabbath ("Be fruitful and multiply").

51. While I wouldn't say Song of Songs is the Karma Sutra in
Hebrew, I agree.

Just the title, "Song of Songs", elevates the content above other "Songs". But the incredibly naive and ignorant don't see it as such, just as they don't see the progess of thought as things unfold in the book.

Seems to me, those that "pick the cherries", pick the most rotten of the ones they can find. There also is a thought that any pleasure, particularly sexual pleasure, is somehow condemned, but that is not true.

After all, if sex was so bad, why does it give great pleasure?

Oh, that's right Calvanists, "if it gives pleasure, it is evil"...:D

As someone that doesn't have a baby, my feminine personality must be lacking and because I am not married, I have failed in my duty to by a proper chaste woman that stays at home.

23. But what of Nakedness?
Are we conceived in sin (our parents being naked when they are...um...procreating) and are we born in sin (wearing nothing but our "birthday suits" when presented to the world?) And is that sin nothing more than the state of nature we were in when we first were allegedly made, in the Garden of Eden? And was not the symbol of that first sin, the eating of Apple, the recognition of man's own nakedness, and the shame thereof? And therefore, Biblically, now, would not recognizing our original naked state as were Adam and Eve in the garden(When Man was made and found to be--GOOD), as we are at all times before God, as we are at bath and at birth and at death when made ready for the tomb...be actually ourselves at our most holy? And so the bikini would be actually nearer to Godly than dressed from head to toe--neck to knees, or any other combination of clothed. Or so might one train of logic run.

29. I had to laugh at this
because it talks about women exhibiting themselves in public and thinking of themselves as being valued only for their bodies and their appearance and their sexuality, and somehow equates that with "feminism." What a joke.

The alternative? Covering up one's body entirely so only one's husband and children are privileged to see it (and the idea that one would be without husband or children is unthinkable). This would make it clear to one and all that one's place was in the home--and no place else. And somehow this would be better, and make a woman more cherished and valuable.

Um, yeah, sure.

47. This seems like as good a time as any for this one:
Well I was drinking last night with a biker
And I showed him a picture of you
I said "pal, get to know her, you'll like her"
Seemed like the least I could do

'Cause when he's charging his chopper
Up and down your carpeted halls
You will think me by contrast quite proper
Never mind how I stumble and fall
Never mind how I stumble and fall

Chorus-

You imagine me sipping champagne from your boot
For a taste of your elegant pride
I may be going to hell in a bucket
But at least I'm enjoying the ride
At least I'm enjoying the ride
Yeah, at least I'm enjoying the ride

Ahh miss sweetie little soft-core pretender
Somehow baby got hard as it gets
With her black leather chrome spiked suspenders
And her chair and her whip and her pets

Well we know you're the reincarnation
Of the ravenous Catherine the Great
And we know how you love your ovations
And the Z-rated scenes you create
And the Z-rated scenes you create

(chorus)

You analyse me, attempt to despise me
And you laugh when I stumble and fall
There may come a day I will dance on your grave
If unable to dance I will crawl across it
Unable to dance I will crawl
Yeah, unable to dance I'll crawl

You must really consider the circus
'Cause it just might be your kind of zoo
I can't think of a place that's more perfect
For a person as perfect as you

And it's not like I'm leaving you lonely
'Cause I wouldn't know where to begin
But I know that you'll think of me only
When the snakes come marching in
When the snakes come marching in

(chorus)

Ride, ride, ride, ride
At least I'm enjoying the ride
Ride, ride, ride, ride
At least I'm enjoying the ride
Ride, ride, ride
At least I'm enjoying the ride
