GOP favorite son in hot water?...

...Alabama's Republican Party has drawn a lot of scrutiny from national eyes of late. Whether it's Don Siegelman's prosecution or Gov. Bob Riley's flirtation with national elections or former AG Bill Pryor's appointment to the federal bench, someone in the Heart of Dixie is raising eyebrows.

The aforementioned Gov. Riley appointed Republican Troy King to Pryor's vacant spot and the ambitious young bureaucrat is resorting to old style politics in accelerating his ascent. His recent efforts to rescind the federal precedent of Gideon v. Wainwright, ruling that the indigent are entitled to counsel in a court of law, created waves.

Now it looks as if King's dirty laundry is emerging just in time to thwart a run for the state's top spot.
