Did somebody say "Enron?"
Why do I think we're going to hear it again some time soon?

2. Please, he's like the anti-Tupac. I just have this nagging feeling...
...we're going to be hearing "Enron" a lot more soon.

6. I got it: they're going to open up that big 'E' that used to be outside its headquarters.
And inside that E, they're going to find all the money that California consumers paid, that Enron workers and investers lost, that Ken Lay and company squirreled away.

Well, there's a better chance of that than of finding it anywhere else.

8. Lots of it is tied up in McMansions in Florida.
The Sunshine State doesn't let the gummit take yer house (only a handful of states have the same law). So, every rich criminal has a compound somewhere in Florida.

3. When the investigations, oversight and hearings start, that's when the Enron doo doo is going to hit
Edited on Tue Jan-23-07 05:00 PM by Independent_Liberal
the fan!

If there's one company that pisses me off more than any of them, it's that one. ENRON!

Who do I blame everything on? ENRON!

I'm going to say it agan. ENRON!

Can you say it?

ENRON!

:grr:

I've got to get my mom to sew me a punching bag with the Enron logo plastered across it so I can take out all my anger on it and punch it when I get mad.

5. Enron, Halliburton and Bank of America tie for first with me, but
Bank of EnHalliburon is the one that pisses me off the most! Im series11

It's quite possible that there are only a few humongous corporations owned by the same "elite" group of people. They are so surreptitious that it is rare to even hear their names. One of them could sit next to us on a bus and we would never even recognize their face.

Is my hat too tight? The more mergers/buyouts I read about, the more I believe it could be possible in the long run.

13. may I be allowed to include WorldCom?
Hubby used to work for them, until the massive lay-offs began.
We were middle class, in those days.
Now we qualify for the monthly USDA free food giveaway.

Isn't that creep in prison?

I'm sorry you've had a rough time. Many have joined you and more to come.

My thoughts are with all of those suffering due to someone else's greed.

19. Bernie Ebbers is indeed in the klink
but there were many others that lead to WorldCom's downfall. I am sure they moved on to do their work at other companies...ugh.

he is truly dead.

10. Paraguay.
I doubt they would survive more than a year down there. There are a LOT of people in South America who want them dead.

12. When I lived in Brasil
in 2003, I read many times in the newspapers that the Brazilian army was preparing for a future war with the USA... over their water and oil.

Bushler would not last a day there, unless he had 40,000 troops to guard him 24/7 forever.

15. I hear samba when I think of Brasil and see...

:D

Terry Gilliam is one of my favorites. I was just talking to a friend in Brasil about the Monty Python discs I sent them - HG, Meaning of Life, Life of Brian, as well as Baron Von M, Time Bandits, etc... I also sent them the entire Black Adder series. :D
