One Time For The Gay People In Little Rock!
For ten wonderful years, I played fiddle and banjo in an Irish Hillbilly Punk band.

Our earliest supporters--and always first among the dancers--were Lesbians who just just happened to be Nurses or other medical-related personnel. Granted, the majority of them were from Ireland or England, dedicated souls who emigrated here thanks to the fact that Arkansas somehow couldn't convince enough natives to undertake the profession, but I digress.

When the Gay Girls (probably not a PC term, but it's how I will always remember and revere them) had made it safe inside the utterly disreputable joints and dives in which we played, the Gay Boys began to show up.

And y'know what? Not ONCE did any of these Godless Homo Perverts ever start a fight or belittle the Heteros for their repugnant sexual orientation. It was just people who came out to drink and dance and have a good time.

Not ONCE did either the Girls or the Boys try to convert me--or even hit on me. The silly things were somehow content just to have a good time.

Betcha not ONE of our Gay Marriage Opponents has ever been hit on either...

3. Alas, we are disbanded now.
*Some* of us got too old to give 150% every night onstage and REFUSED to use a chair, wheeled or otherwise.

4. Ther is a pub in Alma where you can get decent food
good music and the Red Necks refuse to go there, it's a long drive but my wife and I go at least once a month, and I haven't noticed any change in my sexuality at all. Imagine that

2. Ooooh Irish Hillbilly Punk?
Sounds like good stuff!

I don't use getting hit on as justification even if it DID happen. If it was reasonable to use that as justification for hate, all women would be man-haters. :P

5. We took The Pogues as role models, except
Shane MacGowan was a wanker when it came to drinking!
