Necessary Secondary Tweety Comment/Thread:
Edited on Wed Feb-07-07 08:17 PM by PCIntern
Tweety always refers to Cheney as 'Cheeney', almost always stating that that's how Dick likes to pronounce his name. What journalism!

Since Schmuck, I mean Tweety, insists upon calling him by his correct name, then what WTF is the narcissistic need to continue to explain that he's the only person in America who is pronouncing his name correctly? Just do it, Tweety. Everyone else will soon recognize your genius and change the pronounciation of dick's name.

What, they haven't? Now why do you think that is?

1. It comes perilously close to an old epithet for Jews.
For that reason alone, I think those who are familiar with the epithet avoid that pronunciation.

3. Well,
Fuck-o, sorry, I mean Tweety, pronounces Dick's last name as "Cheeeeneee", and oftne remarks that he (Tweety) is correct in his pronounciation. Tonight, he ruptured the swing of things ongoing among his panel by ONCE AGAIN taking credit for being the Lord Chesterfield of the MSM.

4. I;ll say it again -- AT LEAST HARDBALL IS COVERING THE LIBBY TRIAL
They are about the only outlet besides Countdown that is. And they have been covering the case longer and more consistently than anybody on Television.

What do you want? More astronaut in a diaper or Nancy Wants A biG Ole Plane?

If you have watched the coverage for a while as I have, you will probably gather that Tweety is no fan of C H E E N Y. I can't help but think sometimes that his insistence on saying that way might be a dig at Big Ole Dick Cheney.

8. Well, Scooter was pissed at Hardball **because** Matthews was questioning their BS
Edited on Wed Feb-07-07 08:30 PM by emulatorloo
Matthews hasn't "turned on a dime" -- he has always been critical of the rationale for war. He may be playing naive viewer now for effect.

Yes he can be an ass sometimes.

But here's an example -- to Torie Clark, Pentagon Flack Feb 8 2006. Somewhere there is video of it. ON EDIT: VIDEO HERE and well worth watching:

Chris toasts Torie

<snip<>

Chris Matthews toasted Torie Clarke on Hardball today. It takes a couple of minutes until they finally get into the debate on Iraq.

Video-WMP Video-QT

She completely abandoned the WMD claim and based it on a “pre-emptive war” strategy. He shot down all the arguments the administration used to get us into Iraq and called it a great “sales job.”

-----------

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11256228/

All the arguments about W.M.D. have been shot down. No evidence of an African deal, no evidence involving aluminum tubes. All the arguments that your side put up to get us into this war have been shot down, especially the argument that we were going to be received by people who are going to be happy to see us. They are fighting us. They are not happy to see us. That the oil in America was going to be cheaper. That the oil was going to pay for the war itself.

You‘re crowd made every argument in the world to get us in that war, and then they all quit. What I can‘t understand is how an administration packed with hawks, they are all gone. Scooter is facing jail. Wolfowitz is gone. I don‘t know what else is gone, but all the hawks seem to be gone now.

9. It's too bad he couldn't or wouldn't be an objective journalist. He injected so many
of his own (mercurial) opinions into his, uh, reporting (?) that when the opinions were at odds with hindsight he became an object of very understandable derision.

He's been paddling like crazy to catch up. And is probably beyond grateful that one of his off the cuff rants has paid off Big Time. IMO. MKJ

6. Paired with your other analogy, makes sense and also makes me LMAO!
Edited on Wed Feb-07-07 08:17 PM by BleedingHeartPatriot
Tweety is determined to get gravitus, even if he has to say fuck to get it.

MKJ

edited to add, his convenient obsession with this story, maybe after his "sunny nobility" statement, has made him the most unlikely candidate for an Edward R. Murrow award since, well, maybe he's the unlikeliest journalist candidate ever. MKJ

7. There was one interesting thing he said though..how he had been visited by three
angels of death when he said something they didn't like. He also said at the end, that it was shows like this one, that Scooter Libby would call to complain. He looked relieved to get all that info out.
