How desperate are the neo cons to retain their hard earned power?
They've been wet dreaming about this day for many decades now, they stole a lot of money and pulled a lot of strings and killed a lot of people to get to this point, they've planned, conspired, plotted and privately set themselves up as monarchs, and now the people are making noises and threatening to deliver them some long overdue justice.

These assholes AREN'T going to just ride off into the sunset whistling to their horses, they've got evil, evil machinations in store for us all, and they haven't really played all their cards yet. We should all be on RED ALERT regarding our own government.

crossed the minds of meglomaniacs like dick cheney. (georgie has never had a thought more important than the lunch menu, so you can leave him out of planning group)

3. As Machiavelli would say: The ends justify the means
These people are capable of doing anything to remain in power.

5. I think they push in the wrong way. The world is just not going
how they think. I just have to look at what has happened in my own life time to see that countries want 'others' to stay out of their country and they wish to rule them self. I bet their are a 100 countries that have fought this battle since I was born in the 30's. And we know it has been a steady movement since 1850 or so, and maybe before then. Much of our Vietnam problem was we were fighting history. The country did not want some other outsider ruling them. The Fr, knew that and told us but we knew better. Iraq and the Middle East does not want us either but I am sure they like our money and will use that. The neo-cons seem to be out of date but with power behind them they got a lot bad done. I just do not understand why this is hard to see if you read one history book. Once a thought gets out of the bottle it is hard to put it back in. The enlightenment put this thought out and it has grow since then and will not go away, and the neo-cons are just a dying breed of thinkers.

6. they know no limits...
and absolutely they haven't played all their cards.

What we are up against is formidable but we DO have the numbers.

We have to take them down bit by bit by bit...bite down and hold on until they are finally exposed in all their sick Machiavellian tricks.

And then institute some safeguards that actually work against this kind of theft of a government supposedly based on "Democratic principles."

This is an epic, historic battle. Although there's the urge to liken it to some bad movie plot in order to cope, unfortunately this is no time for jokes.

As the air traffic controllers said on 9-11, "is this real world or exercise?"

This is real.
