"Whatever u want me to do I will do it": Dad finds 20 sex messages from pastor on teen's cell
Edited on Sat Jul-28-07 12:10 PM by Bluebear
WARE SHOALS, S.C. -- The police chief of Ware Shoals said Wednesday that a pastor is facing charges after a father found 20 sexually explicit text messages on his teenage daughter's phone.

Chief Mickey Boland said that the 17-year-old's father called police after he found the messages from Pastor Claude Wallace on his daughter's phone.

The man said that the phone is in his name, and when he checked the phone, he realized who the messages were from, so he called police.

Wallace is the pastor of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Gaffne. Police said that the teen had visited Wallace's church but was not a member there.

2. Something is in the water in the Carolinas lately!
From the "Suck it, baby, suck it!" Republican legislator to the 74 year old GOP pastor Privette hiring hookers . . .

The hypocrisy!

We're going to have to keep a record on the front page of DU. All the hypocrites keep quiet over the illegal stuff that involves children. Where's there outrage? What about 'what will we tell the children?'. It must be nice to live on Republican Rd, a one way street.

4. The age of consent in South Carolina is 16.
http://www.avert.org/aofconsent.htm

People can argue about whether or not this was still appropriate, but I think it's absurd that it's illegal to electronic messages to someone you can legally have sex with.

11. Wrong answer.
16 is only legal in SC for an 18 year-old.

The pastor is a criminal pervert and will be prosecuted.

15. Not true.
From the article:
"Authorities say under state law, it's illegal to send a sexually explicit message over the telephone to anyone under age 18."

20. Age of consent might be 16, but a 16 year old, for instance,

could not be hired as an actor/actress in a porn movie. So, it's not surprising there would be different ages for which certain activities are legal or not.

27. You can work in a bar at 18
but you can't buy beer till you're 21, at least here in Texas. Lot's of contradictions in the laws for a lot of things.

I'm thinking this pastor was older than 18.

Was the pastor under 18? No, so he committed a crime.

17. You said: "The age of consent in SC is sixteen."
That is true ONLY for a person 18 or under.

If you are arguing that the pastor had committed no crime, you are wrong.

It is a crime in the State of SC for a person over 18 to have sex with a person under 18.

THAT is the truth.

21. I. don't. deny. that.
For the third time, I just think it's stupid to have a law that you can't send sexually explicit messages to people over the age of consent.

aren't supposed to do legally.

25. O'key, if 16 years old is the age of consent, should 16 year old
be allowed to star in a porno if he/she wants to do it? I am sure the demand would be great, and there would be 16 year olds wanting to do just that-yet it would not be legal.

26. No, because pornography is a permanent record.
It's really a different decision to have sex and to have people watch you have sex for possibly the rest of your life.
