PITTSFIELD — The husband of a slain South County pastor, who was arrested within hours of her stabbing death on June 11, has now been indicted on a charge of murder.

Henry E. Dozier, 63, of Great Barrington, will be arraigned in Berkshire Superior Court, but a date has not been set, according to the clerk's office.

He is accused of killing his wife, the Rev. Esther Dozier, 65, in her bedroom, after returning home from a mishap in which he crashed his truck while speeding north of town, according to police.

Esther Dozier was a community activist and pastor of the historic Clinton AME Zion Church on Elm Street, a tiny congregation of around 20 members. Her husband was an active church member and deacon, and local police reported no prior history of trouble between him and his wife.

1. wonder what the article's title 'black collar crime' refers to?
the skin color of the people involved, or the fact that the murder victim was clergy?

I don't get it.

3. I happen to live in Great Barrington
and the story is so sad... All the facts are not known yet. The husband ran his truck into a train overpass and then walked for a couple of miles before the police found him. Then the police apparently took him back to the scene of the truck, but then brought him home. I think they should have brought him to the hospital for eval. He was acting strange. If he had a head injury, or something that could have caused him to behave out of character. Who knows.
his grandson is in my daughter's grade at school. Very sad story all around.

4. You are correct. He might have been disoriented from the accident.
Or even had a medical condition that caused the accident in the first place.
