Cause frankly - I won't be able to look in for a while.
I think this fight is shortly - very shortly - going to take off toward Kirkuk. I am sure enough to say so here.
You know two things for sure - american units were moving pretty far north - And I think they did give the Turks a comfort - at least enough to just throw some shells into the Kurdish area and nothing more. You know the build up there maybe 20 divisions siting on the Kurdish border.
But there is another shoe to drop here. There was this "status report" given earlier this month. And they had to say - cause it was inescapable - that the Iraqi force strength had fallen 40% - about two brigades. They never really could say why - just nonsensical answers. Kurdish units supposed to be there in Baghdad according to the agreement? - pretty sure they aren't now-
Becasue you should know this - a few days after that there was another report - miraculously - two brigades - all kurds - showed up in those oil fields south of Kirkuk. 6,000 guys.
SO really Mixon got his American units (about a brigade) and two Kurdish brigades too. And they are poised for a fight in the oil fields, south of Kirkuk. They have been in line about 2 weeks now.
Those Kurd units - maybe they don't have our technology - but they are pretty good fighters. Best Iraq has for sure.
SO are we being proactive or reacting to this crap. I doubt the former.
You'll know when it starts - no one bombing- they will go off in a series - clearly planned attacks.
See this is problematic if you are like me and just want our kids pulled out of there. Cause if they do this - they threaten the oil from the north - and this is where most of the proven reserves are. There is a lot of money in that ground - and isn't that what most wars are about in the end - money.
