newt call repubs 'pathetic bunch of pygmies', threatens to run for pres.
http://www.examiner.com/a-842080~Newt_Gingrich_goes_nuclear__May_enter_race_to_foil__pygmies_.html

WASHINGTON (Map, News) - Dismissing the GOP presidential field as a "pathetic" bunch of "pygmies," Newt Gingrich hinted Monday he might step in to beat Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

Gingrich ridiculed "the idea of 10 or 11 people standing passively at microphones," and said he refused to "shrink to the level of 40-second answers, standing like a trained seal, waiting for someone to throw me a fish."

He added: "These are not debates, these are auditions. By definition, the psychology of an audition reduces the person auditioning and raises the status, for example, of Chris Matthews."

newt, the once powerful bulldog of the repub party now reduced to pauley shore one liners from beyond the grave. Who dug newt up anyway?

5. Yes, the P-BOP ticket.
What they don't know is that there's a band called 'Pathetic Bunch of Pygmies' in D.C.

Come bop with the rockin' P-BOPs!

6. Scary. Those who voted for the stubborn, arrogant, "I'm the decider"

incumbent * last time around will probably go for this guy, too.

7. Off-hand slurs of ethnic groups such as pygmies is extremely offensive to me,
but probably not to the bigots who would be Gingrich's target audience.

9. Well, basically, he's right
Rudy's the only one who stands a chance of winning... unless you count in Fred. Either Fred or Rudy would probably win against any democrat other than Clinton. The only unbeatable prospect is a Clinton/Obama run, and with the way those two are arguing (and Obama is most certainly right), that might be a little bit of a long shot. I wish that Clinton wasn't so much the establishment figure.

14. I'm With You There...
He's just what the Repugnican dog & pony show now needs to go from the absurd into super sublime mode. And he's in a good position to do it. The "base" isn't happy with any of the front runners and there's a percieved major void for some "great white hope" to ride to the GOOP's rescue. Gnewtie thinks he's the hero. I'd love to see this shitstain run just for the entertainment value he'd bring to the "debates"...throwing his usual rhetorical bombs at people who were once his "friends" and allies. I'm with you...Run Newt Run!!!!!

15. Blind squirrels do find nuts every now and then.
I agree with Newt: What we've been watching and reading about aren't debates; they are auditions.

Sunday's CNN/YouTube "debate" format was a gimmick. It tried to be hip and it wasn't. It was style over substance, but what do you expect when the "moderator" was Gloria Vanderbilt's son?

Both parties and the media that host these events wouldn't know a real debate if Kennedy and Nixon came back from the dead and bit them on their asses.

18. If your candidacy is held out there as a "threat"--perhaps people won't
view that in a positive way. Just sayin'.
