6. A Pig? Its THE pig...
are you under 35? wow, i feel old. :)

I was just blogging at my place that between Water, the Police all we need for me to be rushed to the ER would be for the Doors and Depeche Mode to show up. All of my neighbors are hosting house parties and doors/windows open, we are all watching this together, running back and forth. But when Waters came on, I actually dropped to the floor. :D

11. The Pig...Soldier Field, Summer 1977
That was from the Animals album (still one of my faves)...what a great concert...Waters, Mason & Gilmour turning it loose. One day, I still hope Waters & Gilmour settle their feuding...it'd be great to see the two of them play again.

15. Animals album recreated in Children of Men. King Crimson song just prior.
There's a great recreation of the Animals album cover in the movie Children of Men. Also, one of the best King Crimson song lead-ins to the scenario. Not enough King Crimson in the movies, I say!

44. You're up near Lake Geneva?
Edited on Sat Jul-07-07 11:07 PM by Cooley Hurd
Years ago, I flew my C-172 up there to a restaurant on Lake Geneva (total brainfart because I can't remember the name of the place now) and specifically (naively) looked up his name in the phone book to see if he wanted to have lunch w/ my wife and myself. Believe it or not, there was an "A. Belew" in the phone book!!!! Natch, I called the # and whomever answered the phone said, when I asked for Adrian, "he's not here.":wow:

I did get the chance to shake his hand after a solo concert (promoting Mr Music Head) in Atlanta in 1989, but I was utterly speechless.

48. He lives in Mt. Juliet, right outside Nashville.
Sometimes he plays solo at the Exit/In. I mean really solo, just him with his guitars and dobro.

51. Ah, He moved to the Nashville area in 1994.
Yes, everything he does is simply amazing. Exit/In is more of the old intimate "coffee shop" type venue, so he could actually talk with the audience and answer questions. Most of the show he would just play requests. My ex was a guitar player but had never heard of Adrian until I took her to the Exit/In. During the CD signing session afterwards she told him "I was properly amazed!" She was a Belew fan from then on.

I haven't heard his new band, but from the elephantblog comments it sounds even better than The Bears! I missed him playing with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones (my other favorite live artists!) in Atlanta. That must have been an intense, amazing concert. Bela also lives here in Nashville. Nashville isn't just Country, despite it's rep.

You know Adrian was discovered by Frank Zappa here in Nashville, right? He was playing with a local bandcalled Sweetheart. I got to see them perform many times, but unfortunately that was post-Belew.

18. Dark Side of the Moon for me is it!!!
Singing Us and Them pretty much did it for my crying fit. Wow... Roger Waters, I had no idea and I had the full line up. It was one hell of a brilliant surprise.

As for movies, we need the entire Dark Side of the Moon in art and film.

Simultaneous start of Wizard of Oz and the album works quite nicely...or at least it seemed that way after someone was kind to me.

28. 2 years ago, they said the feuding was pretty much over
....but now the problem is that Gilmour doesn't want to do a big huge tour at his age, which is why he's not even doing psuedo-Floyd anymore.

My response to that, naturally was... "You ain't any older than Keith Richards, goddamn it. Get out there!"

31. Thanks For The Update
Gilmour tried to recreate Floyd with Division Bell...a good album, but without Waters it lacked the bite.

I guess asking for a reunited Floyd would be quite a concert...they never did anything half-assed. A good friend saw the original Wall concerts at Nassau and said at the time "there's no way they can ever top this". He was right.

Cheers...

38. The Division Bell was not all that bad...
but Waters and frankly Syd B were always what was the core of Pink Floyd, before they knew who they were ... they grew up with Gilmour-Wright-Waters trio... but ever since the dust up... I side on the Waters end... he wrote the majority of my favorite songs.

You're nearly a good laugh
Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
Saying 'Keep on digging'
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find
Down in the pig mine?
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry ...........................
