Be Afraid and Buy an iPhone!
Edited on Sat Jun-30-07 11:45 AM by Beelzebud
That is the message from our corporate overlords this weekend.

If the Europe car fires don't scare you, and you haven't bought an iPhone, you're letting the terrorists win!

brought out on Olbermann last night..it has a battery that can't be replaced. Didn't the iPod have the same thing and people had to buy new when the battery went dead after about a year?

edited to add.

4. they will recharge it for a FEE - and you have to send it back to them
And add the access fees -- and supposedly slow surfing. Uhh yeah -- I GOTS to have one NOW. :sarcasm:

5. Ha! you sound like me. My recent exchange with a web-tech.....
when I was trying to upload some images onto a new site and was having problems. He wrote to ask what my operating system and brower are. I told him Windows/ME/Firefox.

He replied to ask if I had considered "upgrading" to a newer operating system (since that was the crux of the tech problem). I replied thusly:

They don't write viruses for ME, never have.
So no.

Besides, I currently have 260K miles on my very nice, serviceable car (that
I will put another 150-200K on if I can). How likely is it that I will waste
money on a program that is no better and, in the case of Vista, more
problematic than the one I'm currently running?

Yes I know, very UnCapitalistic and UnMaterialistic. Why oh, why do I hate
America?

*sigh*

7. Yeah, but you don't need a virus to make Windows ME crash..
It crashes quite nicely on its own.

8. Ours must've been mfg. on a Wednesday....
Because we haven't had huge amounts of trouble with it. Now mind you. I do have to defrag it weekly and after lots of graphics work. But that's easy enough.

The worst trouble we've had is when the internal fan burned out and we weren't aware of it (the new motherboards now have temp. sensors I'm told) and we fried the motherboard. But an easy fix. Lost no data and were only down a few days.

I've heard from recent reports from friends and family that Vista is like bamboo slivers under fingernails....

I'll stick with the devil I know, thanks.

9. Heh!...I hear that..
I'm sticking with my XP Media Center edition. I was tempted by Vista, but I'm not going for it.

I had to switch from IE7 to Firefox though, because IE7 was crashing like 10 times a day or more. It wants to use the Adobe Flash player 9, but seems to be incompatible with it, so it just crashes constantly.

Is there something about the iphone that makes its battery more likely to go bad?

12. The iPhone is actually pretty innovative, but not worth $600
When they make something like it for $50, I'll consider buying one. Apple has the right idea as far as technology goes, but it's simply too expensive.
