Now they think the president should enforce even laws he doesn't like
An interesting segment on MSNBC just now: A representative from Americans for Legal Immigration said the Congress should investigate the executive branch because they aren't enforcing the immigration laws at the border. He thinks that "the president has to enforce all the laws that Congress passes and can't pick and choose which he likes," and "our republic is in danger if he doesn't" (paraphrasing). Pat Buchanan agreed with him.

So they would oppose all those signing statements Bush has made over the years, on every subject? Didn't think so.

The ALI rep also said the reason the immigration bill failed was that the Internet community and talk radio got people to flood congressional switchboards with their views against the bill, and the next step of the "other side" will be to try to shut down free expression on the Internet.
