Globe Magazine at Grocery Store "Laura nails cheating Bush"
His candid confession

Heres some of the revelations

She wants a quickie divorce and maybe before the term is over
Condi is part of it but he has the wandering eye seen flirting with a tall blond German girl at the G8
He's drinking again and he made a fool of himself with Queen Elizabeth because he hates her
The Booze was the only way he could stand her

and the Globe has a eye witness to Bush engaging in sex with another women in front of her

Laura is extremely hurt by Condi's and Bush's behind her back affair

She is pretty ticked

Their marriage is in shambles and kaput

Unbelievable. Although I really don't believe anything the tabloids say whatsoever, if this were to ring true, I'd laugh my ass off!

20. The WWN actually hires real journalists, oddly enough
And they pay pretty well since clearly you're throwing your career away at that point. But, the quotes and sources on their story tend to be real (I didn't believe that until I met a WWN "reporter"; apparently once it's obvious that you're a joke reporter people will really open up and say some ludicrous stuff... the Onion has the same effect, and apparently a lot of their sourced quotes are real).

16. The Globe was the original source for Clinton's black love child story though
I'm just damned happy to see these types of headlines. Although people may not buy them they do see them and the headlines sink into their psyche.

3. I saw that edition today. This is the first time I've seen that
subject as the main front page story. Until now it was tucked up into a corner somewhere.

It is worming it's way into "conventional wisdom".

Do you have a reliable source for this?
Edited on Tue Jun-26-07 03:12 PM by Jack Rabbit
Headlines I see in the fast check line fall into two categories:
  1. What I don't believe
  2. What I don't care about.
I should add that most such headline are both.

If they were reliable, Bill and Hillary would have split up right after he left the White House. They were reporting that, too.

18. Well, in fairness it's been K street and capitol hill gossip for a couple of years now
The story as it's told around the water cooler is that * started drinking (or perhaps worse) again in late '05 or early '06, and that Pickles has been discreetly staying at the Mayflower ever since (some wags say the Palomar, but that seems too small and too far away to be a good place to abscond). There's plenty of other stories, like when Condi had a "growth removed from her uterus" (*cough*) a few years ago, to say nothing of the "My husb... the President" slip.

22. It's not the veracity of the story that counts here.
This is a supermarket tabloid.. one of the silliest. The thing is that these rags had been uniformly and vociferously pro-B*sh for years. They apparently count as "news" in some parts of the electorate, and the stories had been picked up and amplified by some less "colorful" outlets.. and from there to "reputable" news sources. .

That THIS STORY, which shows B*sh to be a cheatin' souse, is on the front page is remarkable.

28. Globe has been running these stories for at least a year
I will confess I have read them when the line at the supermarket is long. Kind of fun to speculate.

While I don't necessarily believe this mag I do think he is drinking and I do think he has some kind of strange relationship with Condi. Always bugged me that Condi would spend so much time at Camp David and the pig farm.

I do hope that the truth comes out before too long. I get the feeling that the damn press and beltway knows what is going on and is covering for this jerk.

The Globe is nothing more than a giant pile of used cow-feed, concentrated and distilled for the consumption of the credulous masses. If they reported that the Sun was likely to rise in the East tomorrow, I'd have to seek independent confirmation.

Edited on Wed Jun-27-07 11:20 AM by karynnj
The only significance as some have said is that they have had these Bush stories on the cover for at least a year. this after treating them respectfully for since 911.

Personally I could care less if Bush is faithful or if they divorce. It doesn't change what he did as President.

21. I Don't Believe It
I believe Laura probably wants a divorce, but not that Chimpy is cheating on her in any conventional sense. To be honest, I'd be surprised if Chimpy can get it up w/out some sort of bizarre, ritualized, psychosexual deviancy probably involving sado-masochism and torture. Think Caligula.

She will soon be the "matriarch" of the family.. Bar will not live forever..and Laura's content with the deal she made over 3 decades ago.

She's not gonna bail out now.. Chances are that when he's finally run out of town, she will find other interests and who give a rat's ass who sleeps with him??

People at this level rarely divorce.. they just lead separate lives, and live quite happily ever after :)

26. Not that I believe a word of it, but I read it while in line yesterday
I didn't see anything about an eye witness, but then again I was reading it quickly. What I did see, and this is pretty typical of tabloids like the Globe that hype a story and then don't follow through is that the "cheating" was merely an admission by chimpy that he had lusted after other women but hadn't acted on it and that laura considered even lusting after another woman to be the equivalent of "cheating." Big whoop. Not that I believe a word of any of it.

But if I'm at the grocery store again this week, I'll try to give it another look. Better than reading about Paris.

32. How The Mighty Bushie Has Been Trimmed! The Globe...
How the mighty Bushie has been trimmed since the last Congressional election! Before then, the Globe didn't DARE say that one thing was amiss as far as the Bush clan was concerned. Mind you, that wasn't how the Globe behaved back when we had a fairly-elected President. Back then, the Globe either followed or invented every wild accusation and calumny the Republican Party or the right-wing propaganda organs could repeat or invent.

We live in a nation whose information system is terribly broken.

The truth is suppressed...the lies are shoved down our throats until we gag.

I will personally pay anyone $100,000 if they can prove without a doubt that shit-for-brains is doing the dirty with a woman (other than Laura) and that Laura is living at the Mayflower.

48. I Don't Believe The Globe's Stories About Dubya's Marriage
I DON'T believe the stories about Dubya's marriage; I suspect that Dubya's marriage to Laura is probably as strong as that of many happily-married couples and stronger than most. What I DO believe is that the generally GOPster-toadying, bum-kissing tabloid Globe now feels that it's safe to print such stories about Dubya, Barbara Mater, George HW Bush, Laura, the Space Alien from Weekly World News, etc. without serious repercussions. The Globe wouldn't have DARED publish such stories a year or two ago.
