"Sicko" on the internet: what's the real story here? Approved by MM or not?
I've seen various posts linking Google Videos postings of "Sicko" in various places, saying that Michael Moore had given his approval for the film to be disseminated this way as long as it wasn't reproduced or shown for profit.

I looked a bit on his website and didn't see any statement of this position.

So what's the deal, has he actually adopted a permissive position regarding the distribution of "Sicko" so more people will see it, or is this bittorrent-mediated sabotage from Right Wingers to rob him of revenue and box office? Or both?

1. I don't know the answer, but it's being discussed this month at another website.

Several people there claim to have already downloaded and watched it. We saw it in a theater on Tuesday at a regular press screening.

5. Link to Michael Moore discussing copyright
and his attitude toward it. From how he's dressed it looks like this was done during the Fahrenheit 911 release.

13. this comment has me curious...
I'd love to see the 'extra' footage.

I read a cool interview with Moore, and he was in Norway right after being in UK, doing research for Sicko.

But Norway was too radical, and he did not want to include it in the movie because it was so far out there that he felt Americans could not visualise it happening in America. Something like a "Sci-Fi" movie.

But he mentioned the clips he made here in Norway will be included in the DVD....I'm looking forward to that. Must be some "wild" stuff since it was not in the movie. I thought the France bit was amazing, now I am greatly curious about Norway.

:hi:

2. Look in Political Videos
Last week there was a clip with Moore stating he didn't mind if people downloaded it as long as they didn't make money from it. On Howard Stern's interview, he said there was a possibility that the government might confiscate the film before its opening. I think he sees the internet as a way to make sure more people get to see it.

people downloading and watching the movie free as long as they don't try to profit monetarily from doing so. Here is the link to a page with a video of Moore making this statement. Just scroll down a bit and you will see the video image with Michael sitting in front of a microphone. Of course to play the video, just click the start button to the lower left of the image. Micheal's business people may not be as generous as he, but in fact he himself does not have a problem with it.

7. He said it was ok for F-9/11.
As long as you aren't profitting from it I don't believe he cares.

12. I was just going to wait and see it at the theater on the 29th, but it isn't showing
anywhere within a 100 miles. Does anyone have a link where I can see it? I will still own it on DVD when it comes out and even see it at a theater if it ever comes out near me.
