Yeah, I know the basics. He's ultra-rich. He was Dem switched to Repuke now switched to "undeclared". It appears he has a good "green" record.

Where is he on the rest of the issues? Who is he?

1. Bloomberg once was a democrat,
Bloomberg was a general partner at Salomon Brothers, where he headed equity trading, sales and, later, systems development. He made his fortune with his own company, Bloomberg L.P., selling financial information terminals to Wall Street firms; the company also began a radio network (the flagship station is 1130 WBBR-AM in New York City).

Bloomberg is among the world's richest people. He was ranked 44th by Forbes magazine in its list of 400 Richest Americans in September 2006. He was ranked 142nd in its list of the The World's Billionaires in March 2007.

3. Fiscally conservative, socially liberal.
He even supports full gay marriage, unlike many Rs and Ds alike.

4. I know that before he was mayor...
and was only a huge media magnate here in NYC, he threw huge annual parties for his employees and their families. Huge parties. I worked for one of 100 different vendors at one of them, for which he rented the ENTIRE Museum of Natural History.

I don't know a lot about him, but that kind of payback to his peeps (and many many of us facilitators) spoke well of him. I can easily say I like him a helluva lot more than the prior mayor.

:hi:

7. Perot was ridiculed the way that Nader and Kucinich are/were.

On looks, voice, etc.

Regardless of what you think of a candidate's policies, attacking their physical appearance is shallow and does not advance the country.

I don't care if a freakin porcupine runs for office. If it has better ideas that help more Americans than the popular candidates, guess who gets my vote?

9. I didn't intend to imply that you were.
My poorly worded point was that the media will go after him on appearance rather than finding out if he's got any decent ideas.

10. Bloomberg's not crazy
But, how far did pushing the "competent non-partisan technocrat" meme get Dukakis?
