12. The Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo
It is a common mistake.

Or do you think he might win for physics or chemistry. The science prizes and literature prize is awarded in Stockholm. As is the economics prize, which is not a real Nobel Prize

6. So, he can't run if he hasn't "slimmed down 25-30 lbs"
Edited on Fri Feb-02-07 04:54 PM by SoCalDem
Personally, I don't think he WILL run. Look at his life.. he doesn't NEED it. He knows in his heart, that he won in 2000..and all or most of his dire predictions came true with *².

If he DID run, and DID get elected, very little of HIS OWN plan could even be possible, since junior broke everything and stole all the money.

Gore would be beset by every flying monkey in the universe, while trying to clean up the shithole mess left for him..

I truly think Gore has moved on. He can probably speak more freely and impact the word more by doing what he is doing now.

8. But it's not about him.
Even if he knows all that in his heart...it's about the US and the World. Mr. Gore has such a remarkable sense of duty.

9. Perhaps he feels he can do his duty in other ways now.
and he's turned into a citizen-of-the-planet now..not just in it for the US.

14. Probably right.
Look at JCarter, and how much he has accomplished since leaving the WH. Really, Bush has made it such a mess, you'd have to be beyond optimistic to think you could fix the problems in even 2 terms.

The stench of politics has been washed off. Gone the effects of growing up in a DC hotel room; no more glad handing people you despise or pretending to ignore the obvious for the good of the party. No longer in a career that makes him a constant visual target of talking heads and papparazzi(sic).

Now he's an icon whose opinions carry weight and panache. He can pursue any purpose or cause that he fancies. After years of being politicritter he's free........and clean like Obama. He'd be nuts to re-enter the ring. Besides, it would be a bummer to walk into a room and be reminded that for 8 years Gee Dubious had been sleeping in your bed........that bed.

Do NOT let this woman manage a campaign. There is living proof her of her ineptness from 2000.

15. Donna Brazile and Joe Lieberman are members of new PNAC group
Foundation for the Defense of Democracies

FDD was founded shortly after 9/11 by a group of visionary philanthropists and policymakers to engage in the worldwide war of ideas and to support the defense of democratic societies under assault by terrorism and Militant Islamism.

Anyone associating with, listening to Brazile is not one of the good guys.

16. I believe if Al Gore is given a chance to speak at the podium,
he will only speak of two subjects, thanking the people who helped make "An Inconvenient Truth" possible and urging the government and the public to action regarding the looming catastrophe of global warming.

Any Presidential aspiration announcements he may have, will wait until a more appropriate time.

Al Gore has stated numerous times global warming is a moral issue, not a Democratic, Republican, liberal or conservative one. Global warming is the whole enchilada, most if not all of humanity is at stake. If Al were to announce at the awards ceremony, he knows, this could be perceived by some as just political pandering cheapening the debate.

I hope and pray Al does run for President or is drafted, however I believe the Academy Award ceremony would be the worst time to do it.

20. I agree. His book comes out in May - some time in the summer or
early fall would probably be the time to announce.
