"We need to have a federal marriage amendment," Romney
"Otherwise the states will take the course that they (Mass) have."

You duplicitous piece of shit. I'm hetero. I'm happy. but I'm pissed. At you.

THIS is a burning FEDERAL issue, more important that IraqNam, our Constitution, GonzoGate, the outing of Plame, Libby's conviction (Oh wait, you want him released), and the falling economy? Of course, having 250 millions because of your really crazy Mormon connections, you wouldn't know about normal people, would you?

Mormanism is a great example of faith replacing logic and history, and you, sir, are a great example of convenience, pandering, and radical changes of positions just to get elected.

Nice chin, by the way. Is that natural?

1. we do need a federal marriage ammendment - it needs to say any two consenting adults may get married
period.

It's simply a matter of equal rights.

17. Yes, thank God we have Mormons
It's such a strain being tolerant all the time; it's great to have something that even the most tolerant and loving DUer can be bigoted against. After all bigotry is a natural human need; we need to be bigoted just like we need to eat or sleep. And the strain of resisting our natural human tendency towards bigotry, as liberals are wont to do, causes unnecessary and painful psychological strain. So Mormonism provides a convienent outlet for the natural human need to be bigoted.

Being a Mormon myself it's not one I can avail myself of; fortunately I've found another group of people to be bigoted against, so it all works out.

20. Yes, I think that it's something that's in all of us ..
I call it 'bias.' Hopefully, it doesn't extend to racist, sexist, homophobic POLICY, or other behavior/policy against a specific group.

Just something I noticed as a social worker, anyway. I just keep on pursuing more INFORMATION, and I'm more balanced that way. I'm teaching my daughter to sit down and have conversations with people from many, many different backgrounds. It's the cure.

Would you be willing to enlighten me? How common is it to be LDS and a Democrat or a Green? For example, among Southern Baptists (my in-laws are adherents to that faith), in the Midwest, it is rather rare to find oneself around a liberal Southern Baptist.

This amendment is dead, dead, dead. The American people have said that they don't support this amendment.

8. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr
The federal gov and the other bigoted asshole states need to keep their damn hands off Massachusetts LAW. If they continue on this path they will find out just how much New Englanders despise being told how they have to live.

9. lol. good ole' romney
Attacking only the real important issues in America today.

Nevermind the economy, poverty, healthcare, and foreign policy.
We gotta have them Morman family values.

Didn't Romney say that Guantanamo should be "doubled"?
and isn't he encouraging a war against islam?
I dont believe supporting torture and war mongering are Morman values..
WWJD.

Romney is being very hypocritical.
He's a lunatic IMO
Worst and most dangerous candidate for pres.

12. Then he should run for Congress, not President
The President doesn't get a vote on Constitutional amendments, and he cannot veto them.

14. Yeah , Milt, let's have a federal marriage amendment! One that outlaws divorce and remarriage.
Didn't Jesus say something about divorce? Let's make it one marriage per person per lifetime, no exceptions.

16. Mitt doesn't much care what Mitt said just a year ago.
Mitt only cares about the here and now, and getting elected.

he is the most shallow, craven, and worthless man in the GOP horde.

As much as I detest Brownback's tancredo's and hucksterbee's policies, you know where they stand. The only thing sure about mitt is he will say whatever an audience wants to hear.

18. I do have to give him credit
for being in a long-term marriage, with no string of divorces behind him. He is one of the few gop candidates with that history. Or is he the only one?

He has spared us that hypocrisy, but there are so many other things to dislike about him.

19. What we need is for rightwing nutbags to keep their hands out of
other people's pants.

Mind your own business, Mitt Romney.

Find words that unite and elevate and inspire and stop using words that divide and polarize and restrict. Bush has used the latter set for 6-8 years and check out his approval ratings.

If a marriage is so fragile and unsound that it requires a federal amendment to the Constitution to bolster it, it might not be worth saving in the first place.

Unfortunately, Romney is more of a dangerous idiot than he is just an idiot.
