What's going with the US and the world right now is right out of Propaganda Due

Similar to a conspiracy theory that is dismissed as tin foil hat material, Propaganda Due or P2, was a secret society that was bent on taking over nations and hoisting up right wing dictatorships anywhere they could.

However, unlike the Illuminati or all those other 'secret societies', P2 was very, very real.

What's not talked about very often is P2's manifesto, the Plan for Democratic Rebirth.

It called for:
Consolidation of the media
Suppression of Labor Unions
Rewriting of the Constitution

Of course, the end result of the Plan wasn't a rebirth of Democracy, but the rise of an authoritarian state.

2. That's a time-tested formula.

Control information flow and stifle citizens' power -- then change the rules.

Constitutional and individual rights are too much like good health: when you've got them, you don't work too hard to imagine a life without them. By the time they're gone, you're not getting them back.

I wish Americans would treat a healthy, transparent government the same way they treat money, which they guard jealously when they have it, and which they fight for tenaciously when they don't.
