Can someone do a Civil Suit against CNN's Blizter for Spreading Fear and Ramping Terror?
Isn't there some law about shouting "FIRE!" in a crowded room?

Josh Marshall has been talking about CNN's misinformation on the JFK "Terror Plot" and I hadn't bothered with CNN until just now when Blitzer had report about one of the terrorists is missing and something about the other one can't be found and how they were going to blow up Queens and then he cut to Jean Miserve who talked about all the pipelines underground and the fuel and how these people plotted (she's quoting the Prosecutor in this) and then Wolfe acts like he's trying to clarify by saying people he's spoken to say the danger was not as large because JFK has ramped up security and that there are cut offs in place for the pipelines if something happens...so far so good...he sounds like he's trying to minimize the threat...BUT..

THEN...he goes into reporting about all the gallons of fuel at JFK giving all kinds of statistics about planes blowing up and it all going into queens and how the cargo would be blown up causing massive damage and ranting with more statistics and I TURNED IT OFF!

CNN has become the RAMP WAR/FEAR/TERRA Outlet....and something needs to be done about this PROPAGANDA FEAR MONGERING where families only catching bits and little children who might just happen to hear it are going to have nightmares thinking an ATTACK IS IMMINENT by Al Qaeda!

He's become smarmy and transparent.

1. The answer is yes.
But that's the answer to ANY "Can X sue Y for Z" question.

The real issue is whether you'd be laughed out of court for trying it, as would happen in this case.

2. We have to "live with it" is what you are saying. You know I used to e-mail CNN
all the time and complain about this and that. And I know that "Media Matters" and Crooks & Liars and other websites have all reported about CNN and in the "old days" they would have had to be held to account by their viewers. I have cable (yes...I'd like to cancel it...been holding out for the Dem Revolution for years, now) but WHY DO THEY NOT LISTEN TO VIEW'er's COMPLAINTS!

None of them do!
