Washington Post buries the lede; Obama's job approval ratings went up since December

Actually, the Post didn't bury the lede. The Post completely ignored it.

A possible lede? Obama's job approval ratings went up since December. (In terms of the bigger picture, Obama's approval ratings today is right where it was five months ago, according to WashPost numbers.)

But the Post article makes no mention of that fact--none--as the piece relentless lays on the negative news for Obama.
Behold:

"A year into his presidency, President Obama faces a polarized nation and souring public assessments of his efforts to change Washington, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Nearly half of all Americans say Obama is not delivering on his major campaign promises, and a narrow majority have just some or no confidence that he will make the right decisions for the country's future.

More than a third see the president as falling short of their expectations, about double the proportion saying so at the 100-day mark of Obama's presidency in April. At the time, 63 percent said the president had accomplished a "great deal" or a "good amount." Now, the portion saying so has dropped to 47 percent."

I repeat: Nowhere in the Post article about presidential polling does it report that Obama's approval rating went up this month.

1. The Washington Post is an absolute parody of what it was a decade ago
I sometimes wonder whether the newspaper management is trying to run the paper into the ground or something. It seems to be increasingly characterized by the kind of sloppy journalism and biased reporting that seems to have become the norm in the MSM. And even its opinion poages mostly consist of conservative columnists or "Fox News Democrats" who spend half their time whining about President Obama and Democrats for the stupidest and most trivial of reasons while giving Republicans a free pass

Ten years ago it was a must read paper for me. Now I hardly look at it. It has become an absolute joke

4. It doesn't fit their narrative ...

Their narrative is that the "messiah" is a "false prophet." Their leads support that narrative as much as possible, even to the point of offering headlines that don't actually fit the story.

WaPo stopped being a serious source of journalism a long time ago. They still have some good people there, but the editors almost all suck.

I don't always agree with Brade DeLong (economist at Berkley who used to work for Clinton), but his commentary on the WaPo is hilariously insightful. He's so fed up with them at this point, that he refuses to link to them on his blog. When he has a critical observation nowadays, he "outsources" it to some other blogger.

5. Good for Brad Delong!
The washed out post and other mediawhore publications are a dime a dozen that would sell out their country for a tax cut.

Pravda Propaganda.
