2. BERNIE. A name that represents integrity.
Thank you, Vermont, for this man. Well-said, as usual.

5. We as citizens of the United States have a right to elect representatives
...and senators of this caliber and higher to represent us against monsters like George W, Bush and Dick Cheney. I applaud Senator Sanders of Vermont for her remarks and thank you for posting this video.:applause:

6. How is it that we understand everything Bernie Sanders is saying...
And other people do not? He isn't talking about "grey areas". His speech was about black and white, legal and consitutional matters. What's not to understand?

7. I am SO proud of my senator. Bernie, loved and respected. Why...
can't other states elect strong leadership that will not bend with the slightest breeze?
What makes Vermont leadership clear and steadfast?
I include stalwart Senator Patrick Leahy and our newest rep Peter Welch.

From time to time I receive messages: "write your Senator" or "write your Represenative," and I must say that I do. But I find that I am congratulating and thanking these truly fine men.

One might say these are the values of New England, or these are the values of the Founding Fathers. Notice, these values are not "conservative" in the sense of politics, and are not cold and old-fashioned, as many might consider when they hear the words "New England." Notice the values of our Vermont leadership are founded on civility and community and freedom.

I would hope for all our sakes that Bernie not be marginalized as some "nutcase socialist." I wish more people would listen.

And then act.
Vote for leadership that stands up and tells the truth.

8. Hey DrZeeLit
I am thankful every time Bernie speaks because he listens to his conscious and his constituents in Vermont.

You have clearly stated Vermont values they run deep and proud. George Aiken was senator from Vermont before and during Viet Nam. This Republican Senator stood and said that we should declare we won the "police action" over there and pull out our troops NOW! He also retired before a raise in Senate retirement could take effect because he has enough money to live on and others did not.

So many Vermonters represent their people with courage and independence. I just wish the rest of us had two like them. And your new rep. We have Diane Watson as our rep and I am really proud of her... somewhat so of Boxer and not at all of DiFi.

If Bernie was running... But too many people see him as a "nut" case... not where I live in California... in the largest Black Area in Los Angeles.

14. Welcome to DU! Glad to have you aboard!
I grew up in Los Angeles.
Went to Henry Clay Jr. High on Western Ave.
My mom and dad went to Dorsey High School in LA.
I have fond memories of time spent with my grandparents at Lemirt (sp) Park and other LA landmarks, many now gone.

I'm a 3rd generation native CA girl who moved to Vermont in May 2001.
Love the peace, quiet, civility, and NO TRAFFIC.
Love the steely determination of the hearty Vermonters.
I'll never "be" one, but I do admire my compatriots of the Green Mountain State.

Welcome again to DU!

9. Sorry Bernie
but your magnificent speech and your correct vote once again means nothing. I applaud you for your position.
I beg you, if you have not, to sign on to the articles of impeachment against VP Cheney and I hope you urge your colleagues to do so also.
P.S. Do not count on Schumer of Feinstein to be your colleague.

12. Bernie don't support impeachment, I've heard him say it a few
times on Tom Hartmann Show. I'm with you these speeches are meaningless. Bush don't give a damn about speech from some senator the only way that tyrant will listen is with the threat of impeachment.

13. it's not so much that he doesn't UNDERSTAND the Constitution . . .
it's more that he doesn't give a shit about a document he referred to as a "goddamned piece of paper" . . .
