1. She actually looked surprised that the words came out of her mouth.

She didn't "cave" so much as show a little defference to her host. After all, she was an invited guest, and I think she realized her words implied more than she intended them to. I was thrilled that she said it. It's out there on the tubes. The fat clown she was debating sounded and acted like an idiot. She got her message across. I think the "apology" was more of an ass covering, because it sure didn't assuage Matthews. He knew he'd been kicked in the balls. It was great to see!

Mathews was really taken aback by the right wing tool remark. He referred to it two or three times after she said it. Matthews looked so upset about the remark she probably decided she didn't want to get into it with him but everyone knows she meant what she said. Chris was stunned because the truth hurts.

16. My feeling was that she didn't want the focus to be redirected.

Once it finally penetrated Mathiew's cranium that she had just called him a right wing tool you can see him starting to fixate on it. To me it looks like she is dancing away from that so that she can get back to talking about Iraq.

17. She didn't cave, I don't see that at all. She tossed that out and if Matthews was truly such a

sharp debater, he would have laughed it off and maybe referenced his role in exposing Libby or something and then continued the discussion.

Stephanie had to deal with the fact that his skin is parchment paper thin and finally said she was kidding so issues of more importance could be broached. Well, more important to just about everyone but Matthews.
