Just brilliant. This guy is the best. I can't say enough about this.

This deserves major support to get it out in a form that grabs the broader public.

Someone should give him some heavy duty funding and make it into 30-60-120 second spots

the most self-centered can understand, and doing so in a very respectful way.

The only thing I wish were in there is the point that the there isn't necessarily a big economic disruption in dealing with this issue. The author is wise to steer clear of that argument because it is way above the heads of the people we need to reach. But I hope everyone here understands that solving this greatest of challenges may have dire economic consequences to the corporations that have been raping the planet, but for society at large, this will be a net economic gain -- even if the whole concept of global climate change was 100% wrong.

For example, how has the average American been helped economically by Detroit fighting Cafe standards for the past 30 years? It is not even obvious how this helped GM, Ford, and Chrysler in the short term. And we know for certain that this intransigence has led to the destruction of those companies that is now in full evidence. Had they taken up the challenge of better fuel economy, Americans would be saving thousands of dollars a year on our gasoline costs. Moreover, the "Detroit Three" (remember when they used to be called the "Big Three"?) would still have the market share that would be able to support hundreds of thousands of good jobs directly and in their US-based supply chain. How has their intransigence helped anybody?

It wasn't even self-serving. It was just dumb. That is the same thinking that is blocking our path now. The truth is that there is great economic opportunity in being leaders at solving these problems. Companies and nations that lead the development the post-carbon technologies will dominate the next century.
