The Republican Council Member of New York completely loses it when interviewed by a norwegian comedian.

NSFW -- language.

14. No. I saw him as a guy who did not appreciate having his time wasted. Sorry if that annoys
anyone at DU, but that's what I saw.

15. I don't know. The whole taking off the jacket and puffing out the chest thing seemed kinda overdone
Your take doesn't annoy me, btw.

Yep. They sandbagged him, but his reaction was way over the top, IMO.

10. Maybe he was afraid it was the US version of TDS . . .
And he was going to show up in one of their Beckett-like interview segments (seldom a great career move).

But yeah . . . a little Prozac'd go a long way for that fellow.

23. I'd say he's not familiar with TDS
But if he is and that's what he really thought, his over-the-top reaction was an even worse career move.

I wonder - why did he agree to be interviewed by this person in the first place if his time is so important? What did he think he was going to gain from it? He got pissed cause he was trying to work some angle and an angle got worked on him instead. I really think one "get out of my f**king office" would have been enough. Definitely anger issues.

12. It was embarrasingly heavy handed compared to TDS. I don't think that was appropriate language for
a city council person and it doesn't matter where they're from. Don't get me wrong, I love the f word. I just don't think it should be used like a comma...

13. It's New York. It's the way they talk, especially after having been sandbagged. They really DO
feel like they have legitimate work to do, and so they don't appreciate having their (taxpayer-paid, by the way) time being wasted by such lame bullshit...which, I'll point out if I may, was REALLY clumsy and not the slightest bit funny.

16. The language.
A few "fuck"s I get, but the man went nuts. I've known a bunch of New Yorkers and a bunch of people in general & IMHO, low-life assholes are prone to that kind of speech, prolonged and vile as it was.

Sure, his time was being wasted. What's telling is his response. Would I want that man representing me and my interests? Heck no. He's a disgrace.

Did he ever think that this might actually make it to some place like You Tube (or for that matter DU)?

21. His time was wasted but his reaction speaks volumes, what a cretin, coherent with repuke mindset imo
Some rightwinger at youtube insults Norway as insignificant country. Well that's respect and a fruitful attitude.

This whole being a superpower thing turns out to be unhealthy for the US... bloated egos don't think straight.

22. Apparently he thinks he's one of the Sopranos.
Judging from the language and lack of a sense of humor you can easily see why our country is so....how would one say..mmm.. "fudged up." An elected official that acts the way he did (time wasted or not) does not deserve to be in office. He's a horrible person.

24. Yep, self-righteous, self-important
fwiw, I thought the questions were lame too and probably would have ended it right away. But this dude got all pissy. Probably comes from thinking he's so much better than those damn liberals. Oh, I don't know. Maybe I would have kept it going and played along. It was obviously camera time. Sometimes being asked stupid questions can be an opportunity to show a little sense of humor and some intelligence if answered clearly. Could have been a chance to engage, make some points and have fun.

So I've convinced myself - this guy is humorless (no surprise if he's a self-identified republican) and inflated with his own importance. He got punked.
