The headline across the country was “Anti-War Protesters Disrupt Holder’s Speech” but the protests were edited out of KARE’s coverage.

When Attorney General Holder visited Minneapolis on May 27th to speak before a local group, his speech was repeatedly interrupted by anti-war protesters upset with the FBI Grand Jury subpoenas for peace activists. There were dozens of demonstrators outside the event at the University and at Augsburg College. KARE-11’s coverage Included info about the program, the speakers, and audience, with NO mention of the protests.

Nationally, the protests were the news. They were covered by media as diverse as Forbes, USA Today, Newsday, and McClatchy Newspapers.

It wasn’t “Minnesota Nice” that prompted KARE-11 to censor the protests.
This lack of coverage is not unusual in the Twin Cities for anti-war events. There was virtually no coverage in the mainstream media in April when a press conference was held to reveal the identity of an FBI infilitrator who had operated undercover in the Minneapolis peace movement for two years. There was no mainstream media coverage when internationally renowned Malalai Joya, a former member of the Afghan Parliament, recently spoke here against the U.S. war in her country.

1. This is the problem when the media in this country is owned by 6 corporations.
And NBC is owned by General Electric, a major weapons manufacturer.

7. I guess if it involved a penis it would have been on the news
Maybe the activist and protesters need to start getting naked when they protest
