3. The Donald is burning some bridges here.

Flirting with the run for president was just him feeding his ego. Now his ego's feeding on him. One sign you wouldn't make a good leader in a democracy is when you forget how to shut up out of respect for other people's feelings.

Trump's got a glass jaw: any one of his "potential opponents" (assuming her ever seriously runs) can take him out with one punch.

7. Trump has no intention of being president, he is simply doing what an attention whore does

any attention, wether good or bad, is good for business. And the presidency pays only a fraction of what he could be making in private industry, plus it is way too much work for this jackass to handle.

His only "talent" is the capitalization of his last name. As soon as the name "Trump" is off the news, he losses a shitload in mind share, and in his line of work that is directly proportional to his earnings. Donald Trump's only "talent" is that there is depth to which he is willing to lower himself in order to make a buck. He has no shame or sense of decency, his only motivation is money. He, like most of our elite, is a functional (barely) sociopath.

Trump has probably never put a single honest day of work in his whole life, and he has ever had done so I am sure he will list that as one of the most harrowing experiences of his life. He is also not a rarity among our elites, and his type is also not an anomaly in our country's history.

13. I can't believe we keep falling for this stuff

Trump has at least four purposes.

1. Feeding his own ego.
2. Energizing the wingnut base by belching out outrageous, racist assertions.
3. Creating an immense distraction that gets progressives' panties in a twist and sucks all the oxygen out of any meaningful discussions
4. Boosting the ratings of media corporations with each faux controversy.


No, he's not running for President. What he is doing is running interference for someone like Mitt Romney, who will be falsely perceived as "reasonable" in comparison and yet will still take advantage of the mouth breathers who won't really notice the difference when the GOP nominates a creep instead of a nut.

Plus, my larger point is that the bridges he's burning will have an impact on him in the business world. He's running a risk of being seen as a pariah, a racially prejudiced businessman, which is death for someone who depends on publicity for his business ventures. His mouth and ego are conspiring to ruin his public goodwill, no matter how much he says he gets along well with "the blacks."

6. This part touched and amazed me. He actually dreamed of being President at a young age.

Among those quoted are two students from each of the two schools Obama attended in Indonesia, as well as several of Obama's grade school teachers. They related stories of how Obama was teased because of his race, how he struggled with learning the Indonesian language, how he drew cartoons and even wrote an essay about how he wanted to be president one day.
