So he took his 6th-grade-level education and eight kids and moved to the suburbs.

I wasn't aware there was a coat check for white hoods and robes at the Minnesota State Capitol.

1. Okay, explain why integration and segregation are the same thing? And he didn't give specifics...
As to what became so unbearable. It looked like he was reading off a script written for him.

Wish he'd have elaborated on his reasons. Saying he moved his kids because of two things that aren't the same, sounds insane.

What exactly are we missing here?

2. How dare you insult him as being racist.
Some of his best friends are minorities. He said so. Right there in his speech. You just didn't pay attention.

4. I don't know...
We took whoever was quality and cheapest to paint the house. Didn't matter what colour the person was. Amish, lots of fun with the roof and gutter. Actually the white guy did a shit job rebuilding the porch.. kinda screwed up the gutters and the roof. idiot.

5.  He is a regressive idiot racist. It is obvious that his education is lacking.
Integration - or segregation?, would not have hurt him had he applied himself and lifted himself up(by his bootstraps) like he expects everyone else to do.

This proves that the Tea-bag rhetoric is illogical. How did he rise to a leadership role? Honestly, who would vote to follow this kind of foolishness?

6. Taoyateduta agrees with white man that integration leaves much to be desired.....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minneapolis#History">History of Minneapolis

Taoyateduta was among
the 121 Sioux leaders
who from 1837 to 1851
ceded what is now
Minneapolis.

Dakota Sioux were the region's sole residents until French explorers arrived around 1680. Nearby Fort Snelling, built in 1819 by the United States Army, spurred growth in the area. The United States Government pressed the Mdewakanton band of the Dakota to sell their land, allowing people arriving from the east to settle there. The Minnesota Territorial Legislature authorized present day Minneapolis as a town on the Mississippi's west bank in 1856. Minneapolis incorporated as a city in 1867, the year rail service began between Minneapolis and Chicago. It later joined with the east bank city of St. Anthony in 1872.

8. I can't even figure out what he's talking about.
Integration and segregation ruined his neighborhood? Which is it?

Some of his best friends are minorities, as long as they don't live next door to him!

11. He is doing racism for Northern Republicans, the ones who won't admit that is what they are.
It is a tricky song and dance. Gotta embrace Abe Lincoln with one arm and the KKK with the other, so you don't offend the soccer moms.

9. "My minority friends" -- BULLSHIT!
This man has NO minority friends. If he did, they aren't his friends anymore, after this piece of crap KKK speech.

12. I was a student in the Minneapolis Public Schools
in the 1950s (Fuller elementary on 48th st in south Mpls). I remember it as being reasonably well integrated. I got a damn good basic education there, despite the fact that we weren't all white. This ASSHOLE is full of shit. Whatever the problem with the Mpls public schools may be, it's not integration and it's not the minority kids.

13. Minnesota's GOP all voted to "cut desegregation funds" -- desegregation is still going on
Edited on Sun Apr-03-11 10:32 PM by pacalo
in the U.S.??? Wow, I'm reminded of all the comments I've read on DU about racism in the South. In this day & age, I'm shocked that any state would not be fully integrated & would still be resisting it. I learned something new today -- I'm flabbergasted.

15. 8 Kids? I'm sorry, but I think you've exceeded your quota fella.
Edited on Mon Apr-04-11 02:14 AM by WhoIsNumberNone
What is it with these Republicans all having these large families? Whenever one of them mentions their family there always seem to be 5 or 6 kids. Is it their way of keeping their women barefoot & pregnant? Is it so they can get the additional tax deduction? Is it God telling them to be fruitful and multiply- Do they understand that there is an overpopulation problem in the world? Do they think if they can drop enough babies that maybe in the next generation they'll outnumber the Democrats? Or maybe it's the blacks and latinos they're trying to outbreed...
