1. Oh my, that's an old song.

I grew up listening to a version by the Camp Unity Freedom Theater. Pretty much every member of that group was blacklisted.

2. Magnficacious. More wisdom in that little song than in....
Edited on Sun Feb-27-11 08:29 AM by Smarmie Doofus

.... all the paid-for corporate media "analysis" put together. ( Off topic: boy, it looks *cold* up there. Nothing Badgers can't cope with, I guess.)

Edit to add: written by one Florence Reese:

(“an American social activist, poet, and folksong writer. Born in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee the daughter and wife of coal miners, she is best known for the song, “Which Side Are You On?“ written in 1931 during a strike by the United Mine Workers of America in which her husband, Sam Reece, was an organizer.”)

Come all of you good workers,
Good news to you I’ll tell,
Of how that good old union
Has come in here to dwell.

cho: Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?

My daddy was a miner,
And I’m a miner’s son,
And I’ll stick with the union,
Till every battle’s won.

They say in Harlan County,
There are no neutrals there.
You’ll either be a union man,
Or a thug for J.H. Blair.

Oh, workers can you stand it?
Oh, tell me how you can.
Will you be a lousy scab,
Or will you be a man ?

Don’t scab for the bosses,
Don’t listen to their lies.
Us poor folks haven’t got a chance,
Unless we organize.

3. I love this man.
He has always stood for everything that's right and good, so I'm not surprised to see him in Madison.

Many yrs ago I had the honor to dine with him a couple of times after PP&M concerts at Wolftrap, VA and I must say I've never met a more gracious person.

8. Congratulations on the sound quality.
It sounds very good for the rough and ready conditions.
Cheers

Peter is a great man! Just fabulous to see & hear him in Wisconsin - saw PP&M live at Wolf Trap and once in DC at the DAR Constitution Hall when they were just beginning their comeback after 25 years.:yourock:
