Unemployment is up, tax cuts for the wealthy are back, and the party that ruined the economy is taking over the House.

As a result, the lines between satire and survival might be starting to blur.

2. Someone has got to talk seriously about the economy and the distribution of wealth in this country.

Americans are resourceful people, and I'm not predicting the end of the American Empire - yet - but as money gathers at the top of the food chain there simply won't be anybody who can buy what the people at the top of the food chain are trying to sell us.

If all the money ends up with a handful of people or corporations, fine. Not my preference, but fine. As long as I get a dividend.

3. We survived the Gilded Age...

...who knows, maybe in sixty years we'll have caught up to the 1950s.
